X Factor Teens on Britney as a mentor "She's nurturing, fun and hands on"

Britney Spears gives her teen finalists in the 2012 USA X Factor special attention.

This is Spears first year as judge and the blonde pop star is a mom first and that has transferred to her teaching her teen contestants and Spears is said to be also like a mother to her US 'X Factor' contestants.

The 'Toxic' singer mentors the youngest singers on the Fox reality show and they believe that as she has two kids herself - Sean Preston, seven and six-year-old Jayden James - Britney instinctively looks out for their best interests in the competition.

Speaking at the 'X Factor' finalists party in Los Angeles, Beatrice Miller, 13, exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''Britney is the best, I had all her music growing up so to be able to ask her advice is amazing. She's so nurturing. I was having a lot of trouble with my voice this morning and she totally understood. She totally respected the fact that I was unwell and said 'Just do whatever you feel is necessary'.''

Carly Rose Sonenclar, 13, was also having voice issues this week and agreed that Britney made sure each of her contestants were looked after.

She added at the bash held at The Bazaar at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills: ''She's very personable and fun and hands on. She's very open to questions and suggestions. I've been worried about my voice this week and I feel like I can go to Britney with any issues I have.''

Arin Ray, 17, has returned to the 'X Factor' as a solo artist after auditioning as part of a group last year and is thrilled to have Britney as his mentor.

He said: ''To come back this year and have Britney as my mentor is just amazing. The way we bonded was incredible, I hope to some day be as successful as her. She shows you how to still be relevant in the industry from a young age."

''She's there for me. She's so protective of us and just wants the best for all of her contestants.''

lol yeah britney's choices the first week were ridiculous but she made up for it the following week and i'm pretty sure she doesnt pick what the kids are going to wear...but demi changed everything about Cece and Jenel.... their hair , their style, their clothes...they were a million times prettier and more confident during the auditions...

i completely HATED her song choice for carly for week 1 but i guess she was just trying to show a different side from her and it was still one of the best preformances from that night tho lol..

I didn't care for Carly at all, but when she performed on week 1 I feel in love because she showed a diferent side. I love that version lol

I simply think the show is selling a narrative, and people are buying it. Seeing how robotic Britney is at live shows, they needed something to show she's useful, so Simon started 'Britney is a great mentor' immediately after the 1st performance.

I agree about Cece's look, I liked her way more as a brunette. I think Demi tried to distinguish her in the sea of brunettes, but it went horribly wrong (or I'm giving her way much credit).
But Janelle looks good and actually very confident on the stage (and in the interviews), I think she sees herself as a rock girl, so that's where the image came from.

Just remembered about Britney not picking clothes, I'm not sure she does either, but the 1st week Beatrice said to her (when complaining about the song choice) something like "I don't think the song fits with what I'll be wearing", which was ignored by Britney. So she might not choose, but she should be aware of what they're wearing.

yeah i guess she knows what they are going to wear but still...they are kids...i'm sure she just wants them to feel comfortable on stage and lets the wear whatever they want...i remembered last season, simon let drew, who was around 13/14, wear a horrible dress (that she designed) on stage...

I still like Jenel though and don't think she's been changed that much. Cece and Paige have just gone all out with everything they could get their hands on though.
