John Green movie...a reality?!

‘The Fault in Our Stars’ movie producer Wyck Godfrey updates fans on the adaptation

Hypable and Kaleb Nation spoke to The Twilight Saga and The Fault in Our Stars movie producer Wyck Godfrey at the premiere of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 last night and received new information on the progress of the book-to-film adaptation of the John Green novel.

“The book I most want to do right now, because I’m the closest being ready to do it, is The Fault in Our Stars,” Godfrey told us. “It is the best book, it makes you rip your guts out, it makes you want to go out and live a better life. I love it, I can’t wait to make it.”

“I’m producing it, Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who wrote 500 Days of Summer, wrote the script – it’s brilliant. I’m getting ready to hire a director, we’ve got all the actresses you would ever want to be in it want to play Hazel Grace. So I’m excited about that.”

Green spoke about bringing the book to theaters in September, noting that the book’s sales numbers ignited interest in Hollywood. The story focuses on Hazel and Augustus, two cancer patients attending the same support group. While cancer is a topic of the book, the book is so much more and has received critical acclaim upon its release.

I started on The Shadow Society by Marie Rutkowski, and seriously 45 pages have passed and it's just been teenage whining.

I am re-reading The Hobbit before the movie comes out, and I have started on Little Women, cause I use to always read it before Christmastime.

the great mortality (a history of the black death), keith richards' autobiography, harmony (a japanese dystopian novel), and a mystery starring the members of the algonquin round table.

i have a few on the go. the night circus and the fellow ship of the ring are both on going, and for some reason i thought it'd be a good idea to start miss peregrine's home for peculiar children?? so yeah, it's nice + the photography is really awesome.

The Shadow Society was terrible. I only read it because I'm writing in an alternate Chicago setting, so I wanted to see what the author did with it. I'm sick of alternate universes where it's clear the author only wants to set it in AU because it sounds cool, but doesn't do the historic research to make the AU a little bit plausible or how the "divergent point" affects historical events moving forward.

Oh, and to answer the thread: The Calculating Passion of Ada Lovelace by Joan Baum

ASOS which is so much better than I could have hoped for, the Hobbit which is better than I remember, Eldest which is so terrible I think I may never finish it and The Casual Vacancy.

Heart's Blood by Juliet Marrilier. I'm not loving it as much as her other work.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It was sooo slow starting off so I feel kind of disappointed now that I've sort of ~found out what happened to the girl.

Story of O. I have a feeling that I'll need to read something very light and fluffy post reading.

almost finished with 'the signal and the noise!' been reading that on my commute so it's taking a while. also almost done with 'the victory lab,' which are two reads I had wanted to be done before the election, whoops.

for fiction, I'm still in the middle of 'deathless.'

very very slowly reading through The Philosopher's Stone in Korean
but it's still fun even in another language. I want to pick up a Murakami book soon.
