um, she got shit for her weight before that happened. even though she did sign up for weight watchers, it doesn't mean she owes anyone ANYTHING. it's her body, her life.

She signed up for WW when she was barely able to show. If you're talking about when she wasn't pregnant, so what? She chose to be in an industry where people are criticized for their looks.

She has the money and the resources to lose weight a lot faster than most women would be able to do, plus a multi-million dollar WW to help motivate her. Sorry, I don't have it in me to cry a river for someone getting $$$ for all the media attention, positive or negative.

I'm not just talking about her. Society is extremely hard on ALL women who don't meet its definition of what beauty is. Shit like this is why so many girls and women battle illnesses like bulimia and anorexia. They look at the shit celebrities like Jessica go through and think there must be something wrong with them if they are overweight because they see all of these douchebags blasting her for her body. It's fucked up and a symptom of misogyny. People hounded her for gaining weight while PREGNANT, which is even more fucked up! The fact that she turned to Weight Watchers shows how women, like her, internalize the hate they get for their bodies.

The fact that she is wealthy does not mean that she's above being affected by body shaming. The industry is fucked up and simply shrugging and saying that hey, it's just apart of this industry is dismissing the fact that there is something very wrong here. It's not just the celebrities that are affected by it, but the ordinary women and girls who watch this happening and end up hating their bodies because of it.
