Not exactly a surprise, but Girls executive producer Judd Apatow reports that Lena Dunham’s Emmy-winning comedy already has the go-ahead to shoot a third season, and well ahead of the show’s second-season premiere. “We’re about to shoot the third season of Girls,” he says while promoting his new film, This Is 40,in a video interview for The DP/30 Channel.

Apatow mentions that Dunham even lent a hand with his movie: “She’s such a great writer and creative person, she helped me with my script, so we’re trading scripts back and forth. I get inspired by reading her work every week.” Filming on season two of
Girls, which returns January 13, wrapped in September. When asked about the prospect of a third season, an HBO spokesperson said simply, "We’re looking forward to the launch of season two and hope to have good news shortly thereafter."

So excited for the new season!

I must have watched 4 or 5 episodes of that show and i still can't understand why some people keep using words like "hilarious" and "well-written" to define it honestly i just

I think each episode is really hit or miss in terms of being funny. My favorite episode is the one where Shoshanna is on crack (episode 7) and when Marnie and Hannah start falling out, the writing gets a bit better because everyone starts calling each other out on their shit.

This show is one of those pop culture blips that inexplicably has a larger audience than it really should. And that's coming from someone who likes the show. I'm surprised that so many people are into it.

I liked it at first but the style wears its welcome. By the end I was sick of it and never wanted to watch it again lol.

Yes. This. I watched the whole first season and I kept waiting for it to be as good as people said. And it never was.

Same thing that happened with Tiny Furniture, too. I had read for months about how great and amazing her movie was and when I finally got to see it... it was boring and douchebaggy.

I love the show, but idt I'd call it ~well-written~ it's interesting to see ppl my age going stupid shit and making dumbass decisions.
