Fifty Shades of Grey leads woman to divorce her husband

A British woman is divorcing her hubby on grounds the erotic bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey failed to get a rise out of his languishing libido.

The high-powered banker, who earns more than $600,000 a year, charged that her attempt to jump start their love life with author E.L. James’s raunchy novel backfired when her “boring” husband accused her of “unreasonable behavior.”

The 41-year-old woman’s attorney said it was the first time someone has cited the book — dubbed “mommy porn” for its explicit themes of bondage and S&M in a divorce petition.

“She thought their sex life had hit a rut — he never remembered Valentine’s Day and he never complimented her on her appearance,” divorce lawyer Amanda McAlister told the Daily Mail, who did not name her client or the soon-to-be ex-husband.

McAlister said the wife bought sexy underwear to entice her husband into making love, but he never even complimented her on her appearance.

“The woman had been reading the book and wanted to spice up her love life,” McAlister said. “She thought their sex life had hit a rut.”

When the wife pressed her husband to try out some of the action from the book, “he went ballistic” and blamed her for their marital meltdown, McAlister said.

“It’s all because you have been reading that bloody book,” the husband told his wife, according to McAlister.

Lucky husband, getting out of that marriage ASAP if she needed to use 50SOG to spice up their sex life tbh.

If you need 50SOG to spice up your sex life maybe the husband isn't doing a great job either.

This was my first thought. It seems like she was horny as fuq and he was like "durr, my limp diq is limp."

Exactly.
While the choice of 50SOG is questionable, he shares a great part of the blame because she was unsatisfied and he didn't even notice.

LOL Right? He's better off without her.

you mean lucky wife? sounds like he was treating her like crap tbh. women have needs too but women are expected to just accept that their husbands would rather fart out taco cheese than occassionally tend to both of their emotional needs. it basically becomes too ppl living together except for when he needs to bust a nut, and then he does it too fast and flops off her before she has a chance to feel anything.

ya she shoulda stayed lol

What if the husband isn't into S&M tho? Why should he do it if he doesn't like it, just to make his wife happy? No.

Agreed. Of course we aren't quite sure what she asked of him, but it's not everyone's cuppa and people shouldn't have to try it if they aren't comfortable with it.

That being said...the couple clearly had problems before the books came out and it just sounds like this was the last straw for the wife. I'd be willing to bet that marriage would have ended one way or the other even without it.

I can't hate. When you get to a certain age and you want to avoid divorce, you get books and all that stuff to spice up your sex life. At least she tried, unlike her husband.

I don't know, I think if she's not a critical reader and all that's in her head is to try to spice up their sex life, then yeah her husband flipping out (if that's what happened) is kind of shitty.
