X Factor 2012 voting leak: 'Only Jahmene Douglas can beat Chris Maloney'

Jahmene Douglas and Christopher Maloney are reportedly battling out to win The X Factor 2012.

The Daily Star Sunday report today that Liverpudlian singer Chris is continuing to top the votes ahead of tonight’s latest results show.

Only Jahmene Douglas is able to challenge Chris for the top spot, the newspaper claims.

Last week the pair secured half of all the votes between them, while favourite Ella Henderson has apparently been struggling.

A source told the tabloid that Ella had only just been avoiding the bottom two so far this series by a few percentage points.

The source added to the newspaper: “If producers want to stop Chris winning – and it’s a big ‘if’ – then it’s Jahmene they will have to push over the line.

“It seems a long shot from here for any of the others.”

I refuse to believe this is true. It must be BS!! I'd have thought James, Ella and Jahmene get the most votes....

ETA: And something about Chris seems really fake to me idk, like he's trying too hard to be nice

Sometimes the most talented competitors on shows don't get a proportionate amount of votes because people assume they're safe and vote for their 2nd choice. I remember when Allison went home on SYTYCD season 2 and Cat Deeley READ the audience on that.

Anyway. As soon as the contest is over and someone will snap up Ella with a record contract and if the material is at all appealing I'll buy it immediately.

this feels like one of those sabotage tactics by the producers
make the public falsely believe that he already has enough votes so they don't have to vote for him, so he gets sent home

I'd say it would increase the overall amount of votes x factor would get, probably motivate viewers who usually don't vote into voting by making them feel like it matters! Even for the orange creep.

I guess that's why they are pimping Jahmene TO THE HEAVENS with a dramatic story after another.

I saw one new one today about him revealing details about his attempted suicide and the details of his brother's suicide.

IF THIS IS TRUE I really don't get it, both Jahmene and Maphoney are dreadful. One is scared of his own shadow and will eventually crash and the other one just can't sing karaoke and doesn't really fit anywhere in the market, imo.

I don't understand how Ella and James are not crushing this competition.

Too many old people with too much money and time in their hands voting in this show.

I actually hope James or Ella don't win, that will give them time to put out decent albums instead of rushing shitty winner albums (although Little Mix took their time this year tbh).

I think you're right about this. I think Jahmene would get the most out of the platform if he did win it.

He's readily marketable as a cover artist, soul singer, in a long tradition of soul singers who sing songs written by other people.

James and Ella would be better off using the extra time to work on their own material, and they would be better remembered for their talent on the show, as opposed to a rushed first album, like you say.
