Limited Brands/Victoria's Secret Spokesperson Offers Apology To Offended Individuals



Native Appropriations just received the following apology from Tammy Robert Myers, a spokesperson for Limited Brands:

"We are sorry that the Native American headdress replica used in our recent fashion show has upset individuals. (AKA we're sorry you got offended). We sincerely apologize as we absolutely had no intention to offend anyone. Out of respect, we will not be including the outfit in any broadcast, marketing materials nor in any other way."

I remember the shitstorm that ensued after MAC and Rodarte released a makeup line "inspired" by Ciudad Juarez Mexico with nail polish colors called "factory" , "ghost town" and "Juarez". I look at both companies so poorly after that happened. I don't know WTF is wrong w/ companies' marketing and PR teams these days.

ugh that is so fucking wrong. SO WRONG. but i guess noone cares how many people have died over there in the last few years PLUS the hundreds of women that died mysteriously over the course of almost 15 yrs!

i remember how pissed off the beauty community was that the rodarte for mac collection got shelved. 'but omg so many new items are going to waste,' like that was the fucking issue.
