Native Appropriations just received the following apology from Tammy Robert Myers, a spokesperson for Limited Brands:
"We are sorry that the Native American headdress replica used in our recent fashion show has upset individuals. (AKA we're sorry you got offended). We sincerely apologize as we absolutely had no intention to offend anyone. Out of respect, we will not be including the outfit in any broadcast, marketing materials nor in any other way."

Yes, this. Just seems like another silencing and derailing tactic when I see it. I mean, it puts the onus on POC to demonstrate or 'prove' sufficient credibility, while at the same time invalidating the arguments of anyone white as not credible enough (and there's the whiff of credibility needed to put people on the defensive). Plus bonus points for "white girls" as code for "over-sensitive" or some such BS. Not that some one's race would stop the whitesplainers from whining about being misunderstood or anything, it's just the go-to crap they frequently seem to pull.
But yes he talks about how he wish this trend would go away and how people would stop wearing head dresses as costumes or at musical festivals and how offensive it is.
How people actually treat and see living Natives is disgusting and much worse.
