Peter Brant II, Entitled Little Shit, Responds To Obama’s Win By Joking About Assassinating Him

I am not normally one for exercises of state power. However, I feel it might be warranted for the FBI to bust down the door to this kid’s mansion and teach him a valuable lesson in manners.

Peter Brant II, one half of an entity known as “The Brant Brothers,” had a rather predictable response to Obama’s win, for a 1%-er: he wasn’t happy about it. (For those who don’t know who The Brant Brothers are, I envy you. But if you insist on finding out, they’re the foppish, decadent-late-capitalist, teenage sons of Stephanie Seymour and Peter Brant I, and are famous primarily because the media fucking hates you.)

He was so unhappy about it, in fact, that he revealed a bit of the craven nastiness lurking just beneath the surface of every shallow and entitled child of privilege: he sent the above text message, found it worth screencapping, and posted it to Instagram, at which point Jezebel’s Jenna Sauers took a screencap of her own for your viewing displeasure.

“Guess we’re poor now,” said his friend Andrew Warren out of some misguided fear that Obama would tax the wealthy even a fraction of what they paid under Ike Eisenhower. “I have a contingency plan, kill Obama hahaha,” replied Peter, which was indeed funny, because it’s not like the president hasn’t had numerous actual threats of assassination or anything. (Or like Amerikkka has a history of murdering prominent black leaders.)

But, as Dan Savage might say, “it gets better.” “At least women have rights! Oh wait, I don’t care!” said Warren. “Hahahahaha exactly!” replied Brant. Because they’re dudes, get it? And men do not care about women’s rights! HIGH-larious, these two.

While it might be possible to take this text exchange as an example of young Peter’s “evolved” sense of meta-humor (“What a clever boy, making fun of his own shitty image!”), the image’s comment thread gives me pause, as Brant’s comments include calling someone “a nobody loser with no life” and telling someone else to jump off a cliff. But as annoyed I am that he inflicted this nonsense on the world, I’m happy there’s finally some irrefutable evidence that Peter Brant II is not, in fact, a special and precocious snowflake, but just as mean and immature as any 15-year-old popular kid with a limited world view. (psst, Peter is 18, almost 19)

And like I said, the FBI is not amused by jokes like these. Please, please, please let this kid spend a night in an interrogation room as punishment for his supreme priggishness.

Update: His father released a statement:

"The comments that were made are not politically or morally representative of our family or our values."

Brant went on to say that "each member of our entire family believes that Peter should have serious consequences for embarrassing himself and his family and we plan on implementing these.

"We all love Peter very much and recognize who he is as an individual, but we won't tolerate this kind of behavior toward others," Brant said. "We hope that he learns from this serious mistake, matures, and goes on to make
himself and his family proud."

For those wondering who this is, he is the kid of supermodel Stephanie Seymour (of November Rain fame). You may recall him from this questionable photoset posted in ontd last year. Him and his brother also had a really embarrassing spread celebrating them for presumably doing not much more than falling out of a rich vagina. And he is just as much of a privileged shithead as one would expect.

As someone currently travelling around the Philippines I know what poor looks like. Although it humorous to see a man leave his shack holding an Iphone wearing Nike head to toe, even if it is a rip off.

As someone who's born and raised in the Philippines, IA. Their living conditions are the saddest part of it; you could fit a few families in such a small space.

(selling knockoffs is a bit of a meager business here as well, so I'm not at all surprised to see someone sporting a knockoff or two.)

Yeah. I'm living in a back of my stepmom's dentist surgery in Better Living and it's weird because the conditions are awful but everyone seems to eat out lots and they hate their culture. It's like to try the local dish eat the burger.

I hope they realise how good the culture is before it's gone.

all the filipinos ive met have been the friendliest, warmest, most kindhearted people ever. theyre always so accommodating and kind.. it disheartens me to imagine them living in such poor conditions, cause theyre honestly the happiest people ive met.

I know! That's the thing I love the most--it's how happy and friendly the townsfolk can be. I can't think of any other people who'd be on the news waving happily while a typhoon rages in the background. But yeah, it's just that the living conditions aren't even at bare minimum, let alone for a whole family.

waving happily while a typhoon rages in the background

a number of locals actually find that attitude problematic. of course it's much easier to face problems with a bit of optimism, but some of us feel like politicians take that attitude for granted so we never get proper flood control systems and deforestation keeps happening. even if so many of the poor die of landslides and flashfloods, everyone else is all "nah it's cool man, look how unaffected/happy they are."

they really are so happy and helpful, I find even the kids begging do it in such a polite way. I'm staying with more middle class for this country and they look down their noses at people which makes me sad.

What does P me of is because im tall very pale, tattooed, red hair they bang on windows and point like I'm a zoo creature. The police officers are the most vile corrupt humans I've ever encountered and sometimes its no surprise that country is as fucked as it unfortunately is.

Lord one of the most annoying people on my FB feed is Phillipino. He's a seminarian so that explains it, but my has he been obnoxious lately. He posted this because US aircraft carriers left the Phillipines:

"It really was a mistake for these kind men to have left the country for good. These aircraft carriers and ships were our guardian angels, protectors, drivers of economic growth and confidence in the awesome power of Freedom, Starbucks and Mcdonald's. We are living at the height of American global free enterprise. The death of it is the death of 'our' world. Long live our protectors."

PRAISE MICKEY D'S YALL.

so sad. I came here for inspiration and a new culture. I'm staying with Philippinos and a tagalog song comes on they change it to Rihanna, local show comes on they change it to xfactor USA. They spend hours bleaching their skin and practising their Californian accents. When I say I am English they dont care about the queen and shakespeare like some do it's 'is there more Starbucks in London' and 'Are i phones cheaper'. The ones that arent western obsessed are Jesus obsessed.

Oh dear you have been hanging out with the wrong people. I have to say though, your examples are accurate. I think we Filipinos have been brainwashed so hard and too long to think that anything foreign or in this case, American is always better. Generational poverty which is a result of a perfect storm of flawed education system, corrupt government leaders and religious fanaticism does not help our situation as well.

Anyway, have you tried travelling outside of Manila and visit other islands? I think the countryside would provide a better representation of simple-living and happy Filipinos uncorrupted by materialism. Too bad I am currently out of the country, but I would have been happy to show you around :)

Is Freedom an international corporation? One of these things is not like the others.
aflaminghalo 10th-Nov-2012 03:44 pm (UTC)
Freedom is one of America's main exports along with Democracy.
cutesiness 10th-Nov-2012 03:42 pm (UTC)
what annoys me the most are those filipinos who like to show off their ~english~ by going "hey nigga!" or "sup bitch!" to each other. NO. JUST NO. DX
