Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Break Up

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have gone their separate ways.

They broke up about a week ago, a source exclusively tells E! News.

"Because of their crazy schedules, it was getting harder and harder to maintain a relationship," the source says.

Rumors that the adorable twosome had split started gaining traction in the last couple of weeks, but hit a high note just last night when Bieber, 18, was spotted with Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin, 19, seeing The Lion King on Broadway.

Gomez, 20, and the Biebs went public with their romance in February 2011 when they attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party together.

"I am happy," she told us a few months later about their romance. "I'm really happy."

No surprise, but many rabid Bieber fans have had it in for Gomez since day one, frequently attacking her via the Internet.

"It hurts, it really does," she once told Z100 radio in NYC. "I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong. I've been best friends with him for a very long time. It does hurt my feelings a lot, but I try not to focus on it."



Here's hoping they can still be friends.

tbh I believe it - well distance/time constraints + general teenage bullshit. They bickered a lot and did the on again/off again thing for a while this past year, so it seems like more of a gradual decision than a giant fuckup on one of their parts.

I don't think it's crazy schedules at all. They've been farther apart for more than three weeks before and would always fly out to see each other. Plus, she's done WOWP filming this week and has no major filming planned so IDK what could have been so hectic now compared to before.

I think something major happened that was the final straw. But I guess we'll never know~



Until Selena brings it up in her next album that is.

Eh like I said, I think it's been more of a gradual process than a sudden thing what with all the breakups and makeups they've had over the past while. It was probably just one more fight that they didn't have the patience to reconcile over.

I don't see it, imo there's no coming back from what went down last night lol. But we'll see - honestly the best I'm hoping for is that they each remain classy and amicable.

She tweeted that picture of Justin/his friend/Barbara Palvin with "......" as the caption - which for one thing is the first time either of them has done more than passive-aggressively hint that they ever fight/aren't on good terms - and it also read to me like maybe Selena was thinking their breakup was less permanent than Justin obviously did. IMO that's the nail in the coffin - they've been on again/off again for a while, but once you've publically humiliated someone and they've tweeted about it there's no going back really.

I think he was trying to make her regret it and get jealous of really losing him, but instead it was the nail in the coffin for her.

haha well she's been doing the same thing over the past couple of weeks, posting photos of herself snuggling with attractive male castmates. justin's was just the most public strike of a lengthy passive-aggressive spat.
