Stockholm Remembers What You Did, Chris Brown

Advertising for artist Chris Brown concert today appeared in several places in Stockholm. But not the advertising Chris Brown wanted. For the posters shows a heavily beaten Rihanna. Same Rihanna that Chris Brown was convicted of assault on three years ago.

Artist Chris Brown will play in Stockholm in november. The matter has met with some criticism, as Chris Brown previously convicted of assaulting his partner, the famous artist Rihanna. Several have in Sweden pressured to get the organizers to cancel Chris Brown because of this. In other countries, there has been pressure. When Chris Brown could occur in Ireland jumped dressing off.

- We are totally against Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna. Furthermore is our latest single "Blue eyes" about domestic violence, it goes against everything we stand for as a band and would send the wrong message to our fans, said Sean Walsh, from the group The Original Rudeboys to RTE.

In Sweden, the group Panetoz play units. Although they have been questioned. But they will not drop out, they say, to TT . They play for their fans, not Chris Brown, said they.

But critics continue to press. Ahead of the concert has now Stockholm upholstered in fake Chris Brown posters, the image displayed on the Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna.

its rare that I see something that is simultaneously horrendously offensive and hurtful, while being overwhelmingly effective.

love the intention, the execution could be better
blessedbell 9th-Nov-2012 07:49 pm (UTC)
this. the campaign is effective, no lie, but I honest-to-God some other picture had been used.
niklaus 9th-Nov-2012 09:06 pm (UTC)
yep. it's horrifying and revolting and painful to see, which is what the reaction to domestic abuse should be. but yeah. there has to be a better way of getting that across.
tlcspice 9th-Nov-2012 07:46 pm (UTC)
That picture is so scary.
caravels 9th-Nov-2012 07:52 pm (UTC)
i'm glad someone is still acknowledging what chris brown did, but at the expense of the victim? i get going for the shock factor but ugh :( i can't believe how easily almost everyone has forgotten, and how embraced chris brown currently is. he should be fucking decaying somewhere.
lesrouges 9th-Nov-2012 07:55 pm (UTC)
poor riri. it is so painful to look at these pictures. i don't agree with the execution, but it is good to know that people are not letting him get away with this. i honestly can't handle the people who speculate about the situation and lay blame on rihanna for it. no one deserves to be abused, regardless of what others see as personality flaws.
dnangel000 9th-Nov-2012 08:03 pm (UTC)
But should Chris Brown really be allowed to forget what happened?
chaylay23 9th-Nov-2012 08:06 pm (UTC)
From what I remember, shock appeals rarely work. They tend to force people on the defensive. Also, if people know what he did and still like him anyway, this probably won't change their mind.

Its nice that they tried but I don't think this was the right way to go about it. Idk if Rihanna frequently travels there but I'm sure this would greatly upset her.

not cool at all

This translation is awful, but the article is poorly written to begin with.

I think it's wrong for them to use that photo, why didn't they just say "REKNOWNED WOMAN BEATER CHRIS BROWN" -- you don't have to exploit Rihanna to shame him. I understand it's more effective, but it's also super disrespectful. I don't even think the word 'disrespectful' accurately covers it.
ferniinberlin 9th-Nov-2012 08:17 pm (UTC)
im completely in favour of destroying chris browns career, but this is just not ok.
mevselvis 9th-Nov-2012 08:17 pm (UTC)
The intentions are awesome, the execution not so much.
vidriodeperlas 9th-Nov-2012 08:19 pm (UTC)
disgusting and unnecessary. way to trigger victims who have to walk by that shit. never mind completely ignoring rihanna's feelings and dignity.

people don't fucking think.
