“Millions of Twilight fans out there just cannot wait to see this. It’s almost heartbreaking because they don’t want it to be over. It’s a little bittersweet, isn’t it?”

LMFAO!

Normally I'm all for Rpattz making fun of twilight but that quote + gif kind of rub me the wrong way.
jess_sayin 10th-Nov-2012 01:47 pm (UTC)
mte. I can't help but think that Kristen's bad attitude has rubbed off on rob. UGH
invisiblemonkey 9th-Nov-2012 03:14 pm (UTC)
So do the Twitards just pretend he doesn't hate the franchise or what.
possevi 9th-Nov-2012 03:21 pm (UTC)
My question exactly.
la_petite_singe 9th-Nov-2012 03:21 pm (UTC)
Pretty much. And/or they think he's kidding.
tackyblue 9th-Nov-2012 03:26 pm (UTC)
Does he really hate it, or is he just over it?
invisiblemonkey 9th-Nov-2012 03:28 pm (UTC)
I remember him throwing shade like mad when the first movie came out, then he was reined in, I guess.
He probably just doesn't give a fuck anymore.
anchors_oceans 9th-Nov-2012 03:33 pm (UTC)
from my understanding, he got the role and THEN read the books and was like, "...the fuck?" lol.
honey_fuggle 9th-Nov-2012 03:37 pm (UTC)
he doesn't even hate it. there are interviews in which he actually praises it, defends it, etc. he just talks a lot of shit.
xbellaxmiax 9th-Nov-2012 11:00 pm (UTC)
lol no because most fans can joke about the series as well.
it's a teen vampire romance- at the end of the day most sane people do not take it that seriously, even those that enjoy it. rob is hysterical and always kind to his fans so his humor is just another reason to like him.
scarletidiocy 9th-Nov-2012 03:14 pm (UTC)
lol that was amazing
la_petite_singe 9th-Nov-2012 03:20 pm (UTC)
I passed by 30 Rock yesterday and I was suspicious at the lack of fangirls waiting for him outside. Perhaps they smuggled him underground.
elijahxwhore 9th-Nov-2012 03:22 pm (UTC)
This is hilarious
aglows 9th-Nov-2012 03:22 pm (UTC)
HF Jimmy! And that water war was amazing.
summerstar882 9th-Nov-2012 03:23 pm (UTC)
Loved his interaction with Jimmy. But yeah, I'm still getting secondhand embarrassment watching his attempts at using self-deprecating humor to fill the void while trying to mask his awkwardness during these type of interviews. He also needs to fire his hair stylist. Looks like it was cut with a machete. What happened to the Cosmopolis look he was sporting at the premiere?

the_painful_red 9th-Nov-2012 04:46 pm (UTC)
MTE. This interview was so embarrassing. Being his fan is a difficult thing...you never know when he's going to stay something stupid and it stops being endearing.
megisthesex 9th-Nov-2012 04:54 pm (UTC)
his hair is looking a hot mess
gpin2084 9th-Nov-2012 03:25 pm (UTC)
for someone who hates the PR game as much as he does, he sure plays it awfully well.
__nocturna 9th-Nov-2012 03:27 pm (UTC)
I love that he hates Twilight.

Kind of how I like Justin Bieber because he sort of hates his fans.
la_petite_singe 9th-Nov-2012 03:30 pm (UTC)
Does he? I don't know much about him, but what I've seen from his Twitter he seems to be one of those "you guys are my life, I <3 you all" enabler types. Am I wrong?
__nocturna 9th-Nov-2012 03:45 pm (UTC)
i don't follow him religiously but i've seen a couple things where he kind of surreptitiously makes fun of the crazy fans
quinnthevixen 9th-Nov-2012 03:34 pm (UTC)
He looks amazingly cartoony in those gifs, but I'd still hit it
honey_fuggle 9th-Nov-2012 03:35 pm (UTC)
i'd truly love for him to move to a deserted island, make ~serious movies, and have vanilla bbs with his vanilla bitch. just move to that island, lol. you'll be much happier rob!!!! maybe isle esme. just, be gone.
disprove 9th-Nov-2012 03:39 pm (UTC)
Hey Rob fans, what's his best movie? I want to try & see for myself if he has legit acting chops or not.
tracygee 9th-Nov-2012 03:45 pm (UTC)
Personally, I think either Remember Me (minus one scene where he doesn't quite nail it) or Cosmopolis. Overall both are very different type of performances for him.

Cosmopolis is a weird movie, though, but he's subtle and strange and manages to make the weirdest dialogue work. And at the end when he's finally falling apart, he does really well.

Remember Me is far more accessible, and he plays a "regular guy" for the first time...lol.

/stan opinion, YMMV

Okay, I want to ask you as a stan, what do you think are his acting strengths? His weaknesses? What sets him apart talent-wise from the rest? I'm suddenly kinda interested cos I heard he was cast as Lawrence of Arabia and I'm like wut. So I'm curious.
natywentz 9th-Nov-2012 03:48 pm (UTC)
not the best movie, but my fave character,i love him doing comedy

how to be
scientist 9th-Nov-2012 04:01 pm (UTC)
cosmopolis
sophowee 9th-Nov-2012 04:11 pm (UTC)
I really enjoyed Little Ashes
the_painful_red 9th-Nov-2012 04:51 pm (UTC)
I would not recommend Remember me. He's really weird in that movie and it's cheesy. Maybe Cosmopolis, though I haven't bothered to watch it because of the prostate exam scene and weird dialogue. He was really good in How To Be, though. In all of his other movies, he has good scenes but doesn't know how to emote for most of the movie and you basically cringe at his voice/delivery, etc.

Do I sound like a bad fan? It just kills me that he doesn't practice emoting in front of a mirror. He tries to be subtle and it just comes off as,"WTF are you trying to feel right now?"
eyduh 9th-Nov-2012 05:47 pm (UTC)
How To Be and Cosmopolis.

In Cosmopolis, the very last scene where he's breaking down is brilliant. How to Be is hilarious, you should definitely watch it, as Cosmopolis is not for everybody's tastes.
ponpiri 10th-Nov-2012 02:26 am (UTC)
Cosmopolis. He's finally sure of himself and is taking his career seriously with that.
handsdowntoo 9th-Nov-2012 03:40 pm (UTC)
His trolling is getting a bit old. As if he'd have a shot at any roles he wants if he wasn't Edward Cullen from Twilight. It's funny he thinks he's getting things because of his acting. No wonder he and Kristen get on.
beatupcar 9th-Nov-2012 04:00 pm (UTC)
Wow, harsh lol. When has he claimed that he's getting parts because of his acting? I'm not asking that to be snarky, it's a genuine question, I've missed most of the promo interviews except the big ones due to Uni work so I was wondering if I'd missed something. I remember him saying recently that he knew he had Twilight to thank soooo.... XD
handsdowntoo 9th-Nov-2012 04:34 pm (UTC)
The new Premiere he says the kind of directors he's attracted to would still want him regardless of whether he had landed Twilight. It stuck out to me. In reality he'd never have the ability to get those meetings if he hadn't gotten the series. I think the movies suck too but a part of me wishes the actors seemed a bit more grateful for the opportunities it's given them.
miss_sarac 9th-Nov-2012 06:33 pm (UTC)
My carreer got a jump start and I’m enjoying it. I realize it can all end in a heartbeat. I don’t have a free pass, I have to think about everything I do and success is not guaranteed. Even if I hadn’t been in Twilight, I would have tried for the same roles as I did. Only the chance of getting the part would have been smaller. Thankfully the directors I work with don’t cast actors because of their fame, but because they’re good. That’s why I’m glad I get to do audition instead of just being hired.

That's also a translation, so who knows his exact words.
beatupcar 9th-Nov-2012 03:44 pm (UTC)
The water war bit was amazing, so so funny, t'was a great appearance all 'round. The interview was great too.
skizzylizard 9th-Nov-2012 03:52 pm (UTC)
I am several years late to this party but I have a huge crush on him now

His trollin' is never not funny, you guys
