I only watched the first episode of this show but I definitely feel like I need to catch up. I'm not very interested in procedurals but the character interaction seems amazingggg from everything I have seen.

The cases are slowly picking up, but the character interaction is what keeps me coming back. It's amazing to see everything develop.

yeah, it's procedural and frequently predictable, but the character chemistry/interaction are worth the time. the mystery is almost secondary.

Really DNW Irene as another love interest but I DW her on the show and finally being as badass as she should be haha

Hopefully they do her right either way. If they must go the love route, it better be fucking amazing.

Irene is only featured in one of the Sherlock Holmes stories "The Scandal of Bohemia" and it is a real short read. The stories are in the public domain so they can be found online. The Sherlock Holmes movies does make her somewhat of a love interest but they are worth checking out. There is also an episode of BBC Sherlock that features her too.

The Sherlock fandom (I mean all of Sherlock fandom) kind of idolizes her. The best I've heard her described as the Boba Fett of the Sherlock canon in that she only shows up once and isn't very important.

I literally love Jonny Lee Miller's acting, so underrated. I adore the little things he does that really makes Sherlock more dimensional than BBC Sherlock is.

BTW, what did Sherlock's not-dad mean when he said Sherlock was going from "post to post" when he fell & broke his wrist as a kid? Is that like a military thing...? I thought that was gonna tie into his fear of flying, maybe, but not quite. Goddamn, between this, Grey's and Flight, I am never getting on another airplane again.

JLM is really nailing it with every single expression and facial tick. It's an impressive performance imo. Someone upthread said he better win a Golden Globe and ita, a nomination at least is a must. He's foreign (lol because they do love that) and the performance is whimsical, it's a perfect fit. He should definitely get some recognition for this (and it won't be an Emmy, lbr).

he might get an Emmy nomination. Simon Baker has for The Mentalist a couple of times and it's about the same level of show as Elementary. He wouldn't win, but it would be nice to see him nominated.
