I've never watched THE VOICE...

What do you think it's the reason people like it more than the x factor?

kydeon 8th-Nov-2012 05:06 pm (UTC)
It has safe, broad appeal like American Idol.

A stereotypical 49 year old probably couldn't tolerate X Factor this year with all the MTV-style tacky production and gazillion tweens.

Plain and simple answer? the judges.

I know Adam was trolling but what he said was true. You can't buy chemistry. Those judges have huge amount of chemistry with each other no matter what format of the show is.

It's also very intimate in a way where X Factor and American Idol seem way too large for a TV scope.

Spot on!
katiefitch 8th-Nov-2012 05:06 pm (UTC)
yeah idgi either especially because none of the winners or contestants ever do anything with their careers afterwards
card91 8th-Nov-2012 05:08 pm (UTC)
This! There's no denying that they have talent, but it's useless as fuck afterwards when the season is done.

I know a majority of people on X Factor end up not doing shit at the end too, but there's always 1 or 2 acts that end up being somewhat commercially successful. I can especially see that with some acts this season

neither does XF US. Only XF UK produces artists lbr.

Do you honestly go out and buy the albums of your favourite contestants on these shows? Most people don't give a shit. They watch for the fun of it, not what comes after. Even on American Idol, with all of its seasons, only a small handful of them have had decent success.

the judges all genuinely like each other, the sob stories are toned down, and the battle rounds are something different from all the other shows. it really is more about the talent than their back stories.

the Voice doesnt try to be overdramatic with some obvs scripted and over the top backstage crap. they actually focus on the artist even though they never seem to get a "star" in the end lol

plus i love the battle rounds, don't give a fuck after though

and the judges are better, i cant even stand christina but shes great as a judge unlike Britney who only seems to be able to remember 5 sentences

The judges. Their chemistry is awesome. I watch mostly just for them... couldn't care less for who wins.

Also, it's just a more relaxed environment. They don't take themselves seriously. It's fun, and even with the dumb sob-stories, the unnecessary theatrics and drama are nothing compared to X Factor.

The reason I like The Voice better is because it's not as dramatic or contrived as X Factor and I also like the judges and their chemistry with one another. I find The Voice focuses more on singing while X Factor is more about finding a pop star anddd the judges (or mentors) on The Voice aren't mean or nasty to the contestants. They're there to guide them.

i only watch it for the judges and i like the format but once the auditions are over it gets boring,
i think the contestants on X Factor are way more entertaining...
whimsical_tale 9th-Nov-2012 05:33 am (UTC)
The judges. They have awesome chemistry and are fun to watch.
