Ariel Winter's brother is standing by his mother's side.

Us Weekly spoke with Winter's brother, Jimmy Workman, about the allegations against their mother, and he tells Us they are not true.

"There is no truth to these allegations," he said. "The allegations made 20 years ago are not true and the ones today are not true."

"This is a mother who does everything for her kids," Jimmy told Us. He added about their mother, "Chris misses Ariel and wants her to come home."

Ugh. Two kids were removed from this woman's care for a reason.

sorta ot but I've been seeing this floating around more than usual, and I just love how people get the impression that CPS is just some vulture that comes in during the middle of the night and snatches kids. Like there's not a reason kids are taken from bad parents other than "CPS is evil and took my kids away!" yes it doesn't take an act of god for CPS to get their shit together, it's a personal vendetta against you, Parent of the Year

lol seriously they don't just snatch kids out of a house because they have a bruise or something. There have to be legitimate concerns or overwhelming, like they have the time and resources to go after parents who yell too loud

people like to cite the miniscule percentage of over-zealous removals as evidence that all cps removals are fraudulent.

The only criticism I've seen of CPS is when they don't take kids away when they should. Though I think I saw a story about a family in Hawai'i who were accused of stealing something from a local grocery store and they had two small kids so the grocery store called CPS and they actually came and talked to the parents and threatened to take their kids or something.

The store didn't call CPS. They called the cops. CPS got involved when the parents were arrested and taken to jail.

My mother used to work in a school were kids who were taken from their parents by Portuguese CPS went. It was awful. The kids would be sent to their parents on x-mas and such and they'd come back with bruises, scars from cigarette butts being put out on their head, arms, face, etc. Their parents claimed CPS was awful because it took their precious children away, but come on... stop jerking us around.

My mother would take some of those kids home and they'd have dinner with us and play with the cats. She'd buy them these really cheap toys and they'd be so happy, like we'd just given them the best thing in the world. It broke my heart to see the aftermath of their going home to their parents.
