I hate now both sides talk crap on moderates. Sorry I don't wanna blindly adhere to every tenet of your bullshit ideology.
duchello 8th-Nov-2012 05:08 am (UTC)
yeah it's sad
kurtvonnegut 8th-Nov-2012 06:46 am (UTC)
meh it's because "moderate" implies you have some of the same beliefs as conservatives and some of us are nhf any conservative beliefs. not that we're mad that they aren't 100% liberal.
wauwy 8th-Nov-2012 10:03 am (UTC)
I'm a Democrat and I strongly disagree with quite a few of their policies -- I just recognize how BATSHIT CRAZY neocons are and how the Republicans have fucked themselves up by pandering to the BATSHIT CRAZY Religious Right for such a long time.

My issue is when moderates and independents make the false equivalence that both sides are equally bad, when that's clearly not the case.

I don't usually get this upset about things like politics but this really got to me and I need to rant to somebody. My mom's sister left this message for my mother today because she voted for Obama. I don't think I have ever been so ashamed of my family in my life. I was actually crying when I heard it. My mom is one of the most wonderful people and she doesn't deserve to be treated like this, especially by her own sister.
chiixhideki Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 03:48 am (UTC)
what the fuck is this? crazy. :(

"you are dead to me"? wtf
partyonyourhead Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 03:55 am (UTC)
smh, that is ridiculous.

your aunt should have no opinion on who your mom voted for, and if she is going to be like that, screw her tbh
sapphirespells Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 03:55 am (UTC)
wow she is all kinds of fucked up. I'm so sorry you and your mom had to receive this and hear this.

duchello Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 05:11 am (UTC)
Jesus christ this is horrible. I'm so sorry.
buttermell0w Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 05:29 am (UTC)
oh wow bb i am so sorry :( <33
i went through family issues this election too and i just dont understand why people get like this to their family during election (and tbh it always seems like imo it's the really conservative family members acting rude and mean towards the liberal family members, like wtf)
shanny_w Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 06:45 am (UTC)
wtf is this trollop saying about don't call me cause that is harassment when she's harassing you all over a damn vote
ultra_obscene84 Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 11:03 am (UTC)
Wow, your aunt is a bitch. Your poor mother. I've unfortunately had an aunt who fucked over my mom in a horrendous way and I cut that bitch from my life hardcore.
poopanna Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 02:21 pm (UTC)

Sorry you have a trashy aunt.
fogg8 Re: Kind of OT8th-Nov-2012 02:48 pm (UTC)

I have never been so amused as when he said John McCain does not understand how torture works.

sleepofplagues 8th-Nov-2012 04:04 am (UTC)
holy shit. A WAR VETERAN, he said that about a WAR VETERAN
celtic_thistle 8th-Nov-2012 04:04 am (UTC)
omfg that's up there with Paul Ryan mentioning a car wreck in front of Joe Biden and Mittens shitting on single parents in front of Obama.
wauwy 8th-Nov-2012 10:10 am (UTC)
That fucking pisses me off. Even through all the shit he pulled during the 2008 campaign, I still have respect for John McCain. He was a fucking PRISONER OF WAR, you ungrateful, hypocritical cow. Shut your disgusting, hateful mouth. Jesus would have slapped your face so hard you shat your pants twice.

(not directed toward you obviously, toward rick santorum)
ultra_obscene84 8th-Nov-2012 11:04 am (UTC)
IKR? Fucking shithead.
wauwy 8th-Nov-2012 10:07 am (UTC)
The consensus seems to be that they'll double-down on that exact same failed policy of electing Tea Party nominees who then crash and burn spectacularly in the elections.

The national Republican party officials recognize it's a losing strategy, but there's nothing they can do about it because the Tea Party is running amok. They made a deal with Satan back in the late 70's with the divisive and racist-ass "Southern Strategy" and now Satan is in charge.

Karma's a bitch, motherfuckers.
crispy1088 8th-Nov-2012 03:42 am (UTC)
santorum? good luck with that. Whoever runs against him will definitely win, these republicans area mess. I love it.
annavalentine 8th-Nov-2012 03:42 am (UTC)
Ok, I just need to put it out there... I am in AR and I voted for Obama.
evett 8th-Nov-2012 03:42 am (UTC)
Romney-Ryan was not conservative enough to earn support of the Right. That's why most of us wanted anyone but Romney in the primaries

except most of you wanted Romney which is why he won the gop primary.
crispy1088 8th-Nov-2012 03:45 am (UTC)
ikr? and did they really think someone more conservative would have won? No way. These people are living in the past, wake up!
evett 8th-Nov-2012 03:51 am (UTC)
I wonder how far Herman Cain would have gone if he didn't have to drop out. Romney has been great for comedy but Cain would've been hysterical.

deathbytamarind 8th-Nov-2012 07:28 pm (UTC)
That's gross. And also isn't that illegal? I was waiting for my BF to finish his ballot at our polling place so I went back inside real quick to see if he was done, and I saw him still working on his ballot. Then I ran out because I felt like I was being all shady spying on him. :|

And I'm sick and tired of conservatives labeling Obama's push for universal healthcare as "socialist." Healthcare should be a God given right for everyone regardless of race, age, sex, financial background, sexual orientation and so on. It's so fucking ridiculous how a person can be pushed into bankruptcy because they cannot afford to pay their thousands of dollars in medical bills. Canadian healthcare (my dad's got dual citizenship) is the reason why my dad is still alive today. He had to skip all the way to the top of the waiting list because his heart was literally failing on him and luckily there was a donor heart that matched up with him not too long after.

Granted there was luck in the process, but even if he didn't receive it we'd be racked with medical bills we couldn't pay back (unless we used his life insurance) from all the hospital visits, testing and the pacemaker he installed that kept him alive while he was waiting.

So you're probably a selfish asshole if you don't believe that everyone should contribute to a system where everyone gets medical care without worrying about debt. You're selfish if you think your money and everyone else's money shouldn't help you, your family, and others around this country. Furthermore, it's also why people avoid going to hospitals for things like an annual checkup until it's to late and assure themselves that they're fine and whatever symptoms they have will go away when they really aren't, because they can't afford it.

I'm tired of people throwing around the word "socialist" as a pejorative. they don't seem to realize that all those countries that are doing better than us have socialized healthcare.
nationalboner 8th-Nov-2012 06:44 am (UTC)
IKR it's ridiculous to me. I'm Canadian... and I'm proud of the fact that I'm a socialist. Socialist policies work pretty damn well for MY country.
ultra_obscene84 8th-Nov-2012 11:09 am (UTC)
Exactly. As a socialist who votes Democrat, it's ridiculous.
killingabraham 8th-Nov-2012 09:22 am (UTC)
not to mention how "socialist" repubs actually were just 40 yrs ago. dems have gone so far to the right that they're about where repubs used to be. like come on....
schexyschteve 8th-Nov-2012 03:52 am (UTC)
I love how when the country votes to go further LEFT (female senators! openly gay legislators nationally and in states! gay marriage! pot!), conservatives take that as "WE'RE NOT CONSERVATIVE ENOUGH! MUST MOVE FARTHER RIGHT!"
krystiocracy 8th-Nov-2012 05:26 am (UTC)
right? it's baffling.

also, michigan! <3
wauwy 8th-Nov-2012 10:24 am (UTC)
