Victoria's Secret Model Candice Swanepoel Posts Scary Skinny Pic Of Her Concave Stomach

Two days before the highly anticipated Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Candice Swanepoel posted a photo on Twitter showing how she had meticulously prepared for her moment in the spotlight while scantily clad on stage.

Tragically the ensuing image of her concave stomach and jutting hipbones has caused a bitter backlash from followers outraged with the South African model's unhealthy body image, along with concerns that she is suffering from an eating disorder.

"It's quiet obvious this girl is bulimic," wrote one commentator, while another posted: "It looks like the African kids… only missing the number you need to call to donate."

This is far from the first time the 5'9" blonde beauty's emaciated frame has appeared shockingly thin, and as RadarOnline.com previously reported, Candice was skin and bones in a sexy animal print bikini at the 2011 SWIM collection launch in March 2011.

After she got a frosty reception to the glamourous shoot, Swanepoel, 24, defended her weight to People.com. "I am healthy and happy," she said. "I'm heartened to know how much everyone cares about me, but in this case, everything is normal and good."

Last month, she appeared with a group of equally skinny VS models at the Mario Testino Exhibit preview in Boston, where healthy-looking new mom Alessandra Ambrosio dominated the red carpet with her sexy curves over her skeletal cohorts.

The annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show takes place on Wednesday evening in New York, and will air December 4 on CBS at 10 p.m.

lol ouch

I was a size 4 before this pregnancy, but it's also my 3rd bb, so stuff never really looks the same again, even at a really small size.

My sister is the same she's size 5 and has 4 kids, she looks fantastic. No stretch marks or body changes. Me and my other sister believe she inherited our father's skinny syndrome where they can eat anything and not gain a pound.

He also never had weight issues his entire life. My dad was always a perfect size 32 pants.

I feel like the more kids you have, the less time you have to eat and the more time you spend running around like a crazy person, so it helps, for sure. This is my third and LAST, tho. SO SO DONE. Sending my husband for a snip tbh.

I lost 50 lb and now am trying to get pregnant and I'm terrified of what'll happen to my body :( I know it'll change but I will be so upset if I gain a lot of weight.

/angst

this may be weird of me but i remember from seeing other comments of yours that we're roughly the same age- damn gurl you're pretty young to be trying to get pregnant, what made you decide you wanted to start this soon? (no judgment, i actually would love to have a baby within the next couple of years myself but i have to finish grad school first merp). just curious since this is very unlike the typical ontd mentality of never reproducing til 35

Not at all weird bb--I am 23. The reasoning is that my husband is 40. He is in great shape, great health, and most people assume he's maybe 30, but still. He doesn't want to be too old to be a dad, and that makes sense to me. He has no kids (thank god) because he never felt ready with anyone else he had a serious relationship with, and he's very excited about it now.

Had I ended up with someone closer to my own age, I probably would have put it off several more years, considering how guys in their 20s are. :P I graduated college in 2011, lost almost all the weight I wanted, got married in August, and just went off BC (which has made me lose a couple more pounds already, woo)

My bff just had a bb in January and her partner is older too--I want to say he's 35 or 36? That's why she decided to have the bb--older man, more ready to be a dad.

And I always feel weird when ONTD is like "ERMAGERD __ IS WAY TOO YOUNG TO HAVE A KID" and I'm like "...not necessarily." idk it depends on the person! Some people my age shouldn't be responsible for a goldfish, let alone a kid. And others, like my bff, are great at it.

I'm actually headed to the midwife tomorrow to get a general checkup for the whole thing. :D

ahhh okay, that's so awesome, good for you! it'll be nice to have a friend with a bb too. and ita about the ontd hivemind on that topic. obviously for a lot of people it makes the most sense to wait til you're in your 30's but i rme at the comments that are all "i don't know why anyone would want kids in their 20s, i love my freedom and being able to go out!" it's like, individual differences, yo. some of us are homebodies!

Thanks <333 And yeah, my friend is very excited for me to have a bb too. Her daughter is fucking gorgeous; it's ridiculous! I'm a homebody ngl. I like to write, read, and just chill. I don't NEED to go out all the time. It exhausts me when I do!

yup same for me, i max out if i go out twice in a month, never did understand the people that feel compelled to do it 3+ nights every single week. i'll stay in, read ontd, and save a small fortune that would be spent on booze, thx

I've never been a size 4 in my life. Hit puberty, went right into a 9-10. That was a mid-90s 9-10, though, so that's like 6-8 these days with all the vanity sizing.

I'm mad at myself for not losing weight before having my kid. I could imagine how nice my stomach woulda looked had I done this before, when I didn't have the skin issues to deal with now. 40lbs from post-baby weight, and 80ish from the serious OMGBLOAT from pre-e. It's kinda exciting, and scary at the same time, to think of those numbers.
