I haven't seen the movie but the Christina Ricci/ Rosie pairing isn't bad at all also the former is SUCH an underrated actress.

Edited at 2012-11-07 11:52 pm (UTC)
thetxbelle 7th-Nov-2012 11:55 pm (UTC)
ia I think Christina Ricci was the right choice for Rosie pairing.
crucified 7th-Nov-2012 11:58 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I don't think that one is bad at all.
scriptedending 8th-Nov-2012 12:00 am (UTC)
my first thought! it worked well. and watch the movie, it is awesome.
deearem 8th-Nov-2012 12:01 am (UTC)
Yeah same it looks fine to me
lathwen1 8th-Nov-2012 12:01 am (UTC)
I watched the movie, and didn't have a problem with it tbh.
spartacus 8th-Nov-2012 12:01 am (UTC)
ia it was perfect
ztrellitaa 8th-Nov-2012 12:05 am (UTC)
It's such a cute movie, one of my faves when I was growing up.
cerseilannister 8th-Nov-2012 12:07 am (UTC)
i think so too.
obrien 8th-Nov-2012 12:10 am (UTC)
You should watch the movie tbh!
trinimacphisto 8th-Nov-2012 12:14 am (UTC)
Christina and Rosie are PERFECT for that character! I love them!

IA
beatlesluv 8th-Nov-2012 12:17 am (UTC)
Yea I thought it's as perfect combo from the pic tbh, and she is underrated!
champagnexdream 8th-Nov-2012 12:18 am (UTC)
Um, no. Christina's character was an athletic tomboy - in the movie's context, it didn't fit at all.
the_painful_red 8th-Nov-2012 12:41 am (UTC)
Right? I was totally shocked that she "became" overweight since she liked sports and was a doctor.
xbellaxmiax 8th-Nov-2012 12:42 am (UTC)
not just that- roberta was the fiesty, beat your ass type girl when she was younger and then her older version was just suddenly like the funny and chill one- they were always the worst fit to me
mahasin 8th-Nov-2012 12:44 am (UTC)
I disagree, she's an athletic tomboy who feels self conscious about her developing body which tends to make some girls hide their boobs with weight.
antique_faery 8th-Nov-2012 01:41 am (UTC)
I'm such an ass, but it's more to do with her not growing up to be pretty when it's obvious she would to me.
rctshack 8th-Nov-2012 02:08 am (UTC)
if I could tell you how many of the "athletic" people in my high school are now overweight. It's only been 10 years and some of them are extreme.

Facebook is amazing for making me feel better about not being perfect like them in high school.
nathanandbarry 8th-Nov-2012 12:19 am (UTC)
I love that movie and it's perfect.
onceupon_awish 8th-Nov-2012 12:19 am (UTC)
ITA.
blue_birds 8th-Nov-2012 12:19 am (UTC)
yep, they both fit that character.
hypnology 8th-Nov-2012 12:20 am (UTC)
I always thought it was odd pairing because Christina's character was so athletic that for her to be bigger in adult life didn't fit her character. I know that might sound bad, but that's what I thought when I first saw it was I was ten. I was shallow.
raised_eyebrows 8th-Nov-2012 12:21 am (UTC)
My first thought.
matchitehew 8th-Nov-2012 12:33 am (UTC)
IAWTC completely.
xbellaxmiax 8th-Nov-2012 12:37 am (UTC)
the looks work, but the older character was literally nothing like the younger version in how they acted- it has always bothered me tbh
vonlisbon 8th-Nov-2012 12:38 am (UTC)
lol inbox agreement
squishinator 8th-Nov-2012 12:50 am (UTC)
i always thought it was a weird casting when i was a kid but i guess plenty of skinny kids turn out to be fat women as adults. It confused me when I was little though bc I thought rosie shoulda been the chubby girl's adult self lol
preparatory 8th-Nov-2012 12:50 am (UTC)
it's one of my faves and i think the pairing is great
loverelapse 8th-Nov-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
nah, christina and rosie made me cackle
onyxobsidian 8th-Nov-2012 01:18 am (UTC)
I don't think it's bad at all. Just because Christina is slender and Rosie isn't?
antique_faery 8th-Nov-2012 01:42 am (UTC)
It worked somewhat, but it was odd to me that she didn't grow up to at least be pretty. It's not her weight, but her not being pretty that got me. She did well personality wise, though. That's all that matters.
nastymommybitch 8th-Nov-2012 03:42 am (UTC)
great movie tbh
xpretty_vacant 8th-Nov-2012 06:27 am (UTC)
I agree.. I was like, really.. I love that movie.
slurp 8th-Nov-2012 09:37 am (UTC)
IA they look really alike.
rocknrollroots 8th-Nov-2012 03:37 pm (UTC)
Now and Then was an EPIC movie.
miakun 7th-Nov-2012 11:51 pm (UTC)
6. Gwenyth Paltrow and young Maggie Smith in "Hook"

Holy crap I never made the connection that was Gwenyth. I clearly haven't seen Hook in ages.
miakun 7th-Nov-2012 11:53 pm (UTC)
And I love-love-loved Looper, but no. Maybe passable, because of the acting ticks, but in general it took some suspension of disbelief and JGL's makeup was distracting.
heartbreakingg 8th-Nov-2012 12:44 am (UTC)
Agreed. My friend and I both walked out of the theatre going "Movie was awesome....but it would have been better if JGL just looked like himself." It was too distracting thinking "I know that's JGL. I can see it." rather than "Boy, he looks so much like Bruce Willis!"
cherrybombx 8th-Nov-2012 01:18 am (UTC)
i have no idea why they made his eyebrows so black. my brain kept telling me "uhh it's the fashion in the future to smear shoe polish all over your forehead i guess?"
classic_mold137 8th-Nov-2012 12:02 am (UTC)
Me neither. Time for a re-watch.
onceupon_awish 8th-Nov-2012 12:18 am (UTC)
I thought the same thing about 6 tbh.
cityxpretty 8th-Nov-2012 12:21 am (UTC)
I didn't realize it was her either!
6pennylane 8th-Nov-2012 12:55 am (UTC)
don't do it. i got stoned and watched hook and was disappointed!
lauracoy 8th-Nov-2012 02:14 am (UTC)
Also this made me realise that they've been making Queen Maggie 'old' forEVER. Madness. No wonder I think she's a lot older than she is lol!
sarahvma 8th-Nov-2012 02:45 am (UTC)
She's in it for two seconds. She says "PETAH!" really obnoxiously during the Wendy aging montage.
fuckyess 8th-Nov-2012 04:28 am (UTC)
idk why "young maggie smith" is hilarious
thetxbelle 7th-Nov-2012 11:52 pm (UTC)
Most of these are pretty good and Mila was the perfect choice for Gia imo.
maria0305 8th-Nov-2012 01:07 am (UTC)
ditto. the resemblance was great.

miakun 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
Oh yeah! My dad and I were commenting on how good those kids were when we were watching the film the first time in theatres!
trixx_r4_kidz 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
awww so cute
reidacted 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
Can't handle the cute.

milesaway 7th-Nov-2012 11:55 pm (UTC)
i am going to steal both those children I can't even deal
I'll take both the men too actually
bodyline 7th-Nov-2012 11:59 pm (UTC)
They even got the mannerisms down!
indigo_sparkles 8th-Nov-2012 12:00 am (UTC)
the kid who plays young Thor is identical to Chris Hemsworth, I never realised how much till I saw this side by side picture!
fastbak 8th-Nov-2012 02:56 am (UTC)
He was also the kid in "Real Steel".
chuk_is_dazzled 8th-Nov-2012 12:22 am (UTC)
this is like the best now and then
pervert_bitch 8th-Nov-2012 12:31 am (UTC)
This the best one! :D
aphrodite5239 8th-Nov-2012 01:35 am (UTC)
I looove bb Loki, so damn presh
bb Thor looks like a Sprouse twin
rosewood39 8th-Nov-2012 01:35 am (UTC)
mini Thor and mini Loki were adorable and perfect.
tx5mym5 8th-Nov-2012 02:22 am (UTC)
They did a great job on choosing those kids.
greenfairy_87 8th-Nov-2012 04:09 am (UTC)
Omg yes. The bone structure and everything. I really need there to be flashbacks of them as kids in Thor 2.
julietislimited 7th-Nov-2012 11:53 pm (UTC)
10. Ashley Judd and Ellen Burstyn in "The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood"

flawless and this film makes my mom look sane.
arlen_mci 8th-Nov-2012 12:57 am (UTC)
i love this movie, it's super underrated!
schexyschteve 8th-Nov-2012 01:39 am (UTC)
The book is amazing too!
goldenlockets 8th-Nov-2012 06:04 am (UTC)
love this movie. good soundtrack, too!
trixx_r4_kidz 7th-Nov-2012 11:53 pm (UTC)

danrad and jon hamm look pretty decent to me...

nathanandbarry 8th-Nov-2012 12:20 am (UTC)
i know. what are they on?
pimpmytardis 8th-Nov-2012 12:34 am (UTC)
DanRad looks EXACTLY like Roger Rees, I hope they'll play old/young selves or father/son some day. But Jon Hamm isn't distractingly far off.
ditiswritten 8th-Nov-2012 12:46 am (UTC)
agreed. other than Jon having a longer face they're pretty damn similar features wise.
enema_recipe 8th-Nov-2012 01:35 am (UTC)
They just have incredibly different face shapes, which is especially obvious in those pictures. But yeah
tiki876 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
3. Christina Ricci and Rosie O'Donnell "Now and Then"

i didn't think that was so bad

17 again is a whole different story tho

happy_endings11 8th-Nov-2012 12:10 am (UTC)
17 Again was such a horrible casting choice. I still don't get how they thought that worked at all. That being said, I loved both Zac and Matthew in that movie, but it was still a bad choice...
sillycucumber 8th-Nov-2012 03:37 am (UTC)
But Matthew didn't look so bad in his youth. It's not like it's impossible to get rough in your older years...
reidacted 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
Yes @ the terrible list.
maleficent27 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
No offense Matt Perry, I love you and all but you wish you looked like Zac Efron while you were younger.
maveness 8th-Nov-2012 12:01 am (UTC)
The funny thing is, while those two totally don't favor, Efron channeled Perry so well that it kind of made up for it.
lucciolaa 8th-Nov-2012 12:09 am (UTC)
ia
shortliljackers 8th-Nov-2012 12:09 am (UTC)
ia.

i love that movie.
timorousme21 8th-Nov-2012 12:11 am (UTC)
This. I thought Efron did a great job picking up Matthew Perry's ticks and intonations, that I wasn't super bothered by the casting.
miakun 8th-Nov-2012 12:46 am (UTC)
Yeah I was delightfully surprised by that movie, because of that.
baglady25 8th-Nov-2012 01:00 am (UTC)
Agreed. Zac picked up on Matt's mannerisms perfectly
killerqueen 8th-Nov-2012 12:20 am (UTC)
lol, mte.
moddchicc 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
LOL, are you kidding me with Looper as one of the 'good' choices
trixx_r4_kidz 7th-Nov-2012 11:56 pm (UTC)
I thought it was pretty good, especially when he was losing his hair. I think they made his eyebrows TOO dark and it really takes you out it in the beginning.
xbellaxmiax 8th-Nov-2012 12:09 am (UTC)
ia they got the eyebrows wrong
lovetake_over 8th-Nov-2012 12:16 am (UTC)
yes, the eyebrows were my only problem.
raised_eyebrows 8th-Nov-2012 12:23 am (UTC)
Yeah, it was distracting. Funny how such a seemingly small thing can take you out of the movie a bit.
complaining 7th-Nov-2012 11:59 pm (UTC)
ikr? I just couldn't see it and it was distracting.
tigirah 7th-Nov-2012 11:59 pm (UTC)
right? I just could not buy them as the same person. They should have got an unknown to play younger Bruce.
gabunny 8th-Nov-2012 12:04 am (UTC)
they always looked like two totally different people to me, except JGL was uglier ;( a double-whammy disappointing movie experience
redaodai 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
I've never seen Now and Then. And I haven't watched Hook in a long time.

13 Going on 30 is fun.
maveness 8th-Nov-2012 12:02 am (UTC)
Now and Then is really good. But you're going to cry. Or get sad and nostalgic.
popartpistol 8th-Nov-2012 05:15 am (UTC)
Or fill balloons with pudding and stuff them down your top.
vickileekx 7th-Nov-2012 11:54 pm (UTC)
I thought the casting for young kathy in never let me go was good
hireaunicorn 7th-Nov-2012 11:58 pm (UTC)
Me too
iamalreadyinuse 8th-Nov-2012 12:02 am (UTC)
good choice
cerseilannister 8th-Nov-2012 12:09 am (UTC)
IA and I liked the casting for Ruth as well.
blue_birds 8th-Nov-2012 12:22 am (UTC)
same
slapband 8th-Nov-2012 12:57 am (UTC)
kathy and ruth were perfect casting (ruth even moreso than kathy), but tommy less so
utopias 8th-Nov-2012 01:25 am (UTC)
omg that little girl had carey mulligan down.
sarahvma 8th-Nov-2012 02:56 am (UTC)
I liked young Ruth as well.

Young Tommy was a bit of a flop.

emptypostcard 7th-Nov-2012 11:55 pm (UTC)
Dakota and Reese? Really?
2perfect4words 8th-Nov-2012 06:13 am (UTC)
Dakota is serving some Honey Boo Boo realness in that picture
starsxsonatas 18th-Nov-2012 01:21 am (UTC)
what's funny is that i think elle looks like a clone of reese from certain angles in paparazzi photos. if she'd been a little older, she could have played reese pretty well in that film.
