It’s Election Day — and celebrities want all Americans to celebrate.
As President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney tirelessly rallied support on the campaign trail in recent months, many high-profile Hollywood names — from George Clooney to Eva Longoria to Clint Eastwood — stumped for their candidate from coast-to-coast.
And now that decision day is here, they and many others in Tinseltown are taking to Twitter to get out the vote. From pushing Americans to make their voices matter to sharing sites for polling information, politically minded stars are encouraging voters to take part in the democratic process.
They’re not just talking the talk — stars are voting, too, and sharing their experiences and polling-booth snaps on Twitter.

Hanging Obama Doll Angers North Carolina, Hampton Roads Residents
The photo has been circulating online and has several people concerned.
A Shell company spokesperson says the photo was taken at or near a Shell-branded site in Raleigh, according to WTLV.
Below is the response from Shell after being contacted:
“This is the action of one individual who is not affiliated with Shell or any of our wholesalers or dealers. Shell does not condone actions or displays of this nature nor has any Shell station or wholesaler authorized, condoned, or supported this display at their Shell branded location.”
Shell says it has notified law enforcement about the photo.
omg
I don't think it's fair to write off an entire city based on a few racist individuals. If anything you should be saying, "Of course that would be in NC," because NC is indeed still a backwards southern state.
Post-racial America, you guys.

While it remains unclear how and when the Obama image was turned into an e-hoax, the doll undoubtedly originated with North Carolina resident V.R. Phipps, who says he created effigy to get state and federal government to investigate the shooting death of a family member.
According to KHOU Channel 11, Phipps attempted to attract attention by building a trailer equipped with gallows to hang dolls of his local sheriff and judge as well as a life-sized depiction of North Carolina governor Bev Perdue — all of whom he claims have refused to investigate the death. The President's effigy, which Phipps swears has no racist connotations, was added in recent months after the federal government refused to pursue the case as well.
Like any good American, Phipps has made sure to document the protest on YouTube. His conversation with the hanging Obama doll has garnered more than 60,000 hits.
