I Would is bugging me. It should be "if it WERE me" not "if it WAS me". I took a grammar course this summer and the teacher drilled this rule into our heads.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly sure it's because it's supposed to be the past subjunctive (were) and not the past indicative (was) which implies fact. You're stating a hypothetical condition that's not the current one so it's subjunctive and not indicative.

I went looking in my grammar text to find the "official" statement:

With regards to CONDITIONAL SENTENCES (usually containing a subordinate clause beginning with if, when, or unless and a conditional clause stating the result):

In the case of speculation use were instead of was in the subordinate clause, even when the subject is I, he, she, it, or a singular noun.

If it WERE me <-- conditional sentence because the subordinate clause begins with IF and we're speculating what would happen.

I would, I would, I would <---- this is the conditional clause that explains what would happen is Zayn/Harry/Niall/Liam/the annoying one happened to be this person's bf.

There endeth your grammar lession.

Cliff notes: If you're using "If" make sure to use "were" instead of "was", even if the pronoun/noun is singular.

lol english is not even my native language and even i know this rule. there tend to be tons of grammatical mistakes in song lyrics tho so i'm not really bothered by it.

lol english isn't my first language but it always bugs me when people say was instead of were. But I think i only know which is correct because it's very similar to my own language.

It's not bad at all! I actually kind of like it...but compared to other tracks on the album it's nothing special. My only issue with 'Little Things' and 'Over Again' is that they sound too much like Ed Sheeran tracks. As someone on here mentioned, it's like 1D covering Ed songs.

yeah i agree with you and it does bother me too. but i think over again sounds less like a cover even though you can easily tell it's an ed sheeran song

Over Again might be my favorite on the album. It helps that I adore Ed, but I think they all sound absolutely gorgeous on Over Again, I am so pleased.

Rock Me is so freaking catchy!! Cmon Cmon was my least favorite yesterday but it grew on me today (still reminds me of Lightning, tho)
