Bloop bloop! Nicolas Ghesquière to leave Balenciaga

Nicolas Ghesquière is leaving Balenciaga, the French brand he's helmed for the past 15 years, Women's Wear Daily reports.

The fashion label and its creative director reached a “joint decision to end their working relationship," effective Nov. 30.

Ghesquière, who joined the label in 1997, is widely credited with reinvigorating Balenciaga, once a struggling Spanish design house founded by Cristóbal Balenciaga that employed Hubert de Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta and Emanuel Ungaro. It's now one of the most widely sought after French labels under the Gucci group, famous for its handbags and avant-garde designs, and recently showed an acclaimed spring 2013 show in Paris.

That's what I was thinking. When I saw it on her I was like "this is interesting but I'm not sure" but now seeing it on the model I'm sold on Kristen wearing it.

eh like some people said, the pants could have been fit better on her.
still, the outfit is amazing and i don't understand people hating on it- the sleek black pants and sexy top just looks so fucking good. i would rock it tbh.

so fucking shocked. this is so left field and I still haven't processed it- (mostly because i been awake since 3 am), but omg I can't think of anyone who could replace him.

I do hope PPR does replace him with someone new. They really need to start investing in new designers and if the rumors are true they should totally bring back one of his old assistants.

I'm not a big fan of his but I'm surprised. I can't think of anyone filling his spot, but then again all the choices these fashion houses have been making to replace the previous designers have been an absolute disappointment.

I'm still nhf Raf Simmons at Dior.
