I was in Southern VA two weekends ago and it WAS Repub hell.

But my uncle who is a registered Repub is voting Obama (and lives in the Norfolk/Chesapeake, VA area. He said that Romney lied everytime he opened his mouth and he wanted to be president "too bad" - whatever that means.

Living out in the mountains I have seen sooo many Romney shirts on kids at my uni, barf. There are few Obama signs here and there which ease the pain lol. The coast (grew up there) was always more of a mix, hoping plenty of people think like your uncle and it goes blue.

I keep hearing conflicting stories out of VA. So many claim Obama will win it while others believe the Conservatives in South VA will come out in huge groups.

I don't think Obama needs VA to win. I believe Obama will win Florida with PR and Cuban vote.

i live in va and i'm proud to say that it's mostly blue signs in my neighborhood. i was laughing earlier as i was driving home because on the street leading to my court there is one house with a romney sign surrounded on both sides and across the street by obama signs. what a lonely world it must be for them :)

I'm so nervous about this election. My dad says Romney is an "idiot" and he doesn't think he has a chance. He says that even the very rich businessmen he deals with at work say they won't vote for Romney, but IDK, IDK.

I'm hopeful. I have enough friends that are Republican, but are voting for Obama because of social issues. One friend's parents are not voting at all (which is sad) because they refuse to support Romney, but they honestly feel they cannot vote for Obama either. For the first time ever, both of my grandparents are voting democrat. They refuse to discuss it because they don't want to get into it with their friends & my very persistently Republican uncle.

I campaigned in the bumfuck region of New Hampshire yesterday and LORD it was not a good experience. I was hoping to meet people from my area but I was with really old people all day. Nothing against old people, but the lady who was driving us was like the fucking crypt keeper. She kept veering into other lanes and starting and stopping and seemed to not understand things very well. I thought I was gonna die. And the who area we were canvasing had been canvased several times THAT DAY so all the people we saw were kind of pissed off at us. Never again.

I don't know about other schools, but my campus is overwhelmingly pro-Obama and everyone has a high amount of political efficacy. My roommate is a Republican and she's hilariously closeted about it - I'm fairly certain she's one of five Republicans at my school.

Haha I work in a college town and there was a group of old people pushing for Romney on the main drag with the Defeat Obama, and Anyone but Obama signs, but good on them.
