#1. If I was having a pampering night in, I’d put my ridiculous white headband on that lifts all my hair out of my face. Then, first thing’s first, I shave my legs. That’s a special occasion, I’m not the kind of girl that shaves every morning in the shower – I have a special designated bath time, a date with my razor!
#2. My mom’s a hairstylist and she’s always told me ‘don’t over-wash your hair – the less you wash it the better’ so I wash my hair maybe once or twice a week, so I use a lot of dry shampoo.
#3. With skin, I use the Clarisonic (£120) – I do a good scrub first. Then I do a super-hydrating mask, and let that sit for 10 minutes. I also love to put towels in the microwave (am I going to get in trouble for saying that?) for 30 seconds and then I lie with them on my face.
#4. Because of the make-up I have to wear all the time, it feels like when I wash my face I never get the make-up out of my skin, so when I’m alone and I don’t have to work, it’s my favourite thing to get every ounce of it off.
#5. To finish, I load on a lot of oils. I literally use olive oil on my face. I take olive oil from my kitchen and put it on my face. I promise you can do that.
#6. Also, I saw I have some wrinkles coming. I’m going to be 25 soon, I’m like, ‘what’s going on, so this is happening now?’ so I’ve started putting a little eye cream on too.
#7. I never wear perfume. My mom never wore it when I was growing up; she only wore oils, like patchouli oil or gardenia oil, so I’ve always used oils too.
#8. I’m really simple when it comes to make-up. I like to look like I’m not wearing any make-up. I don’t like it when girls do a full face when they’re going out to lunch.
#9. I really just use concealer. I really think it’s important to let young girls know that they do not have to wear a full face of foundation. I love bareMinerals, I love their brushes too.
#10. I do a lot of oils, argon oil, and then a little concealer around my eyes, nose and chin. The thing I focus on the most is my eyebrows. I’ve never let anyone pluck or wax my eyebrows except myself.
#11. A strong natural brow is important I think. I use a little clear eyebrow gel. I use a little bit of Shiseido Cream Eye Colour in Brown (£20.50) for the top of my lid, a little mascara and then I call it a day.
#12. I don’t like sparkles, even though that’s the trend; I haven’t gotten into it yet. I also use Clinique Men’s Tanning Cream (£16.50) for my blush because it stays on all day.

What are your beauty secrets, ONTD?
I'd appreciate specificity about which products and methods you use. :)
Afternoon: Cleanse face with Dickinson's Witch Hazel. Reapply Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion.
Night: Witch hazel, Clearly Natural Vitamin E bar and Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion.
My skin is pretty smooth and clear now.
Morning:
Say Yes to Tomatoes Daily Acne scrub
Aveeno positively radiant daily moisturizer.
Shiseido Ultimate Sun protection lotion SPF 60
Night:
Neutrogena' Oil Free Acne Wash-Redness Smoothing cream cleanser with Clarisonic
Aveeno positively radiant daily moisturizer.
I had an Olay night cream but it felt greasy and I thought it was the culprit in causing a breakout.
I'll take suggestions for night creams!
I also use Dr. Brandt Dark Spots No More serum for acne scars.
Morning: Cleanse face with Ceramic Slip. I massage it into my face for at least a minute and a half, then wash. Apply half a pump of the Juno dry oil moisturizer in circular motions. Apply the acnedote spot treatment gel from Alba Botanica on pimples and go.
Night: Cleanse again with Ceramic Slip. Apply Good Genes and spot treat with the AB gel.
I'm looking for a good mask that won't screw with my skin. Picked up the Vegecol mask from Aubrey Organics so I'll see how that goes.
1) costco brand make-up wipes.
2) clarins normal/dry toner
3)estee lauder idealist pore minimizer skin refinisher
4) hope in a jar moisturizer (by philosophy)
night:
1)philosophy's purity made simple cleanser
2)clarins normal/dry toner
3)help me retinal cream by philosophy
4)hope in a jar moisturizer
products i use once a week:
A)clinique 7 day scrub cream rinse-off formula (exfoliator)
B)Origins clear improvement charcoal mask or first aid beauty oatmeal repair mask ( i switch between these every week)
my skin type is normal to dry and my only skin problem i suffer with is large pores.
Avene Gentle Milk Cleanser
Oilatum natural repair moisturiser
Evening:
Lancome Baume Eclat Cleanser
Avene Gentle Toner
Oilatum natural repair moisturiser
evening: clinique take the day off cleansing balm - bioderma crealine - avene thermal water to balance the ph - avene's triacneal as night cream (buffered half an hour later with argan oil or l'occitane's angelica moisturizer)
i also exfoliate few times a week (peter thomas roth pads or a microfiber cloth) and apply facial masks (avene's soothing hydrating one which i'm quitting because it's slightly comedogenic, and the far superior nuxe masque hydratant frais)
Edited at 2012-10-31 12:16 am (UTC)
1 squirt of L'Oreal Youth Code Foaming Gel Cleanser
Combine that, scrub it in for at least 90 seconds, rinse
Neutrogena rapid clear toner 2x a day
Neutrogena rapid clear acne eliminating spot gel 2x a day
If I leave the house, Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream (not a true bb cream, but it's a great tinted moisturizer imo)
If I stay in, Pond's Clarant B3 Anti-Dark Spots cream (it's helping with my acne, crazy)
At night, Olay Night Regenerating Serum
Every other day: St Ives apricot scrub for breakouts
once a week i use sugar face polish mask from sephora ($55/jar but it's definitely worth it.)
at night, i take off my make up with water and either lush's ultrabland or almond oil. then i apply clinique's Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer.
i recently heard that clinique moisturisers are actually really harsh on the skin. they never made me break out and i've used them for two years, but now i'm thinking of switching. any recommendations? is it worth shellin out on something like kiehl's? i'm lucky that i have really clear skin, but it's on the dry and sensitive side.
oh, and for your body, i really recommend just using coconut oil, it smells amazing and hydrates so much better than any lotion i've ever used,
Night: MB glycolic foaming cleanser (with Mia), MB glycolic toner, MB protein night cream
I sound like I'm a spokesperson, haha. Their products saved my face though. I've been going to a medical spa and was using SkinMedica and it broke me out badly in cystic acne. Before that, I dabbled with a lot of Clarins and Biologique Recherche, which are both great lines.
P.M.: Some sort of acne face wash with salicylic acid in it (I switch around), Clarisonic every other day, Bioelements quick refiner after I dry my face, argan oil a little bit before getting into bed
my face still breaks out pretty randomly (mostly just red spots) but that's more hormonal stuff than anything else and skimping on my water intake. my clear skin feels like a baby's bottom.
Edited at 2012-10-31 12:21 am (UTC)
Evening: Cleanse with Nubian Heritage Black Soap. Moisturise with Avene Cicalfate.
Dassit.
My skin is lovely now. I used to use all sorts of fancy products as a teenager and my skin was lacklustre and mildly pimply at best.
Night: I remove my make with Jojoba oil. I put some in my hand and message it into my face. Then I wipe off my make using cotton pad. Then I use Burts Bees Sensitive Cleanser with my Mia. I followed that up with Origins Mega Mushroom serum and night cream. Once a week I use Origins Modern Friction, followed by Aztec Secret clay mask with apple cider vinegar.
wash face with cleanser (my favorite is korres milk proteins but now that i ran out and it isn't available in my country, rn i'm using malin+goetz grapefruit cleanser)
spray caudalie beauty elixer (i'm running out! my mom bought me a replacement from the us, along with the korres but now she can't find it smh)
moisturizer (korres pomegranate cream-gel, but i also like caudalie sorbet cream)
bb cream, followed by makeup etc.
night:
wipe off everything with ponds (tho i just ordered a teeny tiny sized bioderma, can't wait to try it)
wash off with morning cleanser
wonder pore from etude house (i might stop using that, now that i have the bioderma)
kiehl's midnight recovery eye treatment for the undereyes.
for spots, i like kiehl's blue herbal spot treatment but i can't find it rn and i'm running out so i switched to their other spot treatment
korres sleeping facial (making sure to leave the spot treatment product alone.
i might def need to change some things, i get annoying spots sometimes.
Night: Purity made simply to cleanse with my Clarisonic (some days if I didn't wear any makeup I'll just use the Yes to Cucumbers makeup removing wipe just to get rid of excess dirt. I've recently been using these Up and Up Target brand Apricot exfoliating wipes which are amazing because I have super sensitive skin and even the most sensitive scrubs irritate my skin. After that I use a toner/mist which I've been switching up lately shopping for a new one. I used to use Boscia's Clear Complexion Tonic but I have a H20 Plus Marine Calm Balancing Toner that I just got. After that I use First Aid Beauty's Anti-Redness Serum for Rosacea and Cliniques Dramatically Moisturizer (the yellow one) and my eye cream which right now is Organix's Ever Radiant Coconut Milk Anti-Puff eye cream. Which I probably won't repurchase. Then I'll use Rimmel's lash growth serum on my lashes and eyebrows (they're scarce) and a thick lip balm!
Any suggestions for an eye cream that will help reduce dark circles and fill in fine lines (not so much anti-aging but when I use concealer under my eyes it always sits in the lines ugh) and isn't ridiculously expensive?
Night: I wash my face with burt's bees radiance(and I exfoliate 3x a week with Lush's herbalism). I use toner again, wild ferns night eye cream and face cream.
It's a lot but it's totally worth it. :)
Besides that I do nothing special, just proactiv since I have acne prone skin.
Morning: Maria Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel (got it as a sample so trying it out), apply Renew Australia Rosehip Oil on eyes and Anti-Oxidant Moisturising Cream on the rest of my face, Shiseido Anessa SPF 50 PA+++ (Getting rid of the Anessa suncscreen cos I just found out it is chemical, great as a makeup base/primer)
Evening/Night: Take off makeup with Shiseido Cleansing oil, cleanse with Konjac Sponge, Apply Renew Australia Rosehip oil and Renew Australia Anti-Oxidant Moisturising Cream again.
Evenings: water, micellar lotion (currently Bioderma), argan oil
Occasionally a chemical peel (so something without scrubbing).
I used to use Vichy spot treatment which worked like a charm, but I kind of don't need to anymore.
I should really start using sun protection again, but I haven't really found one that works with my skin.
If I have to or want to wear make-up, I use almond oil to dissolve it and wash it off with a cloth before the Bioderma.
Afternoon: Tend to keep the oil at bay with shin powder.
Evening: Wash face with gentle cleanser. Either Aubrey Organics (love it) Weleda, or Ultrabland by LUSH. Tea tree toner by LUSH. Keihl's midnight intensive oil (the one in the blue bottle), LUSH celestial then bed.
Try to change my pillowcases twice a week to keep troublesome skin at bay, too.
I put regular white sugar in olive oil and use it as a skin scrub. If I feel sassy I add essential oil to it for scented. Great on my face and my skin is ah-mazing for the next few days. Plus, if you get it in your mouth or eyes it doesn't taste like chemicals or burn.
What skin type do you have?
I am sensitive to Vitamin E lotions and creams though, but this doesn't bother me at all.
Any recommendations ONTD?
I'm only 25 but I want to be preventative about this shit. I already wear sunscreen everyday but any other ideas woud be helpful. Stuff on the cheapish end would be better.
Also tips on getting rid of hangnails would be lovely!

oh and stay away from cigarettes and excessive alcohol - that shit will age your skin like no other - it ain't pretty
Edited at 2012-10-31 12:32 am (UTC)
Ingredients: Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Panthenol, Ascorbyl Palmitate (C-Ester), Pinus Pinaster (Pycnogenol®) Bark Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
You can find it at Whole Foods and other organic markets but the cheapest place to get it is definitely vitacost. The link below will give you $10 off anything in the store. I only payed about $8 and most of that was shipping (which is really cheap). I'm not trying to ~advertize~, I'm just letting y'all know... it's a good deal and vitacost has so many awesome products at fair prices even without the coupon.

As for face cream, right now I'm alternating between The Balm's Iris Night Cream I picked up from Marshall's (part of $15 kit) and Alpha Hydroxy lotion I picked up from Ulta ($12). Keep in mind the AHA lotion can sting like hell, especially the first time you use it. But it makes my face feel really smooth.
water&sunscreen, BAM that's all u need.
honestly, korean cosmetic brands are benefitting from the ~hallyu wave~ so they should expand their shade selections imo.
if you're in the US the delivery can be a little hefty but sleek make up is pretty fantastic
But no, it's too thin to be a moisturizer.
i used (currently using argan) almond/rosehip/argan/sunflower/sesame/av
olive oil did cause a few zits, i must say, so i steer clear
I have:
Goldeneye
On Her Majesty's Secret Sevice
Live and Let Die
Tomorrow Never Dies
Skyfall
Casino Royale
The World is Not Enough
did this happen to anyone else? idk why all famous people seem to swear by it, maybe they're all getting paid
Do you what you gotta do bb, but for most people it does get better so I would recommend you stick with it for a couple of weeks but no one knows your skin like you.
They have a really good return policy, up to 90 days if I remember correctly. So that should give you enough time to determine whether you want to keep it.
BUT i did buy some dr. hauschka skincare and using it made me break out and develop combination skin but it was so expensive i kept trying.
i thought my skin might need an adjustment period because it's a different method of cleansing but it's not that. maybe you need an adjustment period? you could use a really, really gentle cleanser like cetaphil, then gradually go back to your usual cleanser.
/went to beauty school
This is an amazing and cheap spot treatment. Gonna try the Happy Me overnight pimple eliminator next.
also kiehl's rare earth pore refining tonic is supposed to be incredible
I'll keep an eye out for the Kiehl's, thanks!
moisturizer: philosophy hope in a bottle, it has a mattefying finish so its great for oily skin
anyone care to share their stories with argan oil?
i haven't been using the moisturizer much bc i've got another moisturizer i need to finish first.i'm really looking forward to getting pure argan oil for every day use.
oh god i just realized this is barely helpful. if you want better eye cream, my friend loves the Clinique one in the little pink tub!
my skin likes argan oil, doesn't break me out and it's quite nourishing
