American Apparel's 'Hurricane Sandy Sale' sparks hate-storm

Several people living in states hard-hit by the post-tropical cyclone were shocked when they opened their email inboxes Monday night to find the above message among safety bulletins and messages from loved ones.
The sale offered customers living in New York, New Jersey, Conneticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virgina and Maryland 20 per cent off of all American Apparel merchandise for the next 36 hours "in case you're bored during the storm."

#stay strong Cindy
FEMA is still on my shitlist, but whatevs. Good for them, good for them.
Wait what? Why would people say that?
yet one of MANY things that enrages me about katrina -_-'
...ya that's it for me
my friends who have power now and are in varying areas along the shore said
1) their houses are fucked - either burned down, flooded, or collapsed; one guy had a tree fall into their house and ripped off the front porch, another friend had a boat dumped into the side of their house.
2) cars are ruined
3) boardwalks are gone

Both of my neighbors (on either side) had trees fall on their respective cars and there is a shitload of trees down everywhere so it's hard to get around.
Our hydrangea bush was partially ripped out of the ground so now it's all fucked up and kind of just laying across my front lawn...but since that's all I can really complain about I think I'm really lucky.
Here's a photo:
I feel really bad for the people on the coast, in Jersey, and in New York, as well as everyone in West Virginia who's seeing snow. Looks like they got hit really hard. ONTDers who lost power, i hope you get yours back soon.

Also knocked out power in manahattan and the subways got flooded
It is still raining around here.
Our town and all of the surrounding towns are mostly without power except for a few streets in each town.
I can't fucking believe we are still having classes when no one can even get off their roads.
Fairfield beach, Rowayton (Darien) and the coastlines of Stamford and Greenwich are royally fucked.
I'm currently visiting relatives in Alta Vista, VA and we seemed to just catch the very edge of Frankenstorm 5000. No downed trees, no flooding; just a series of ugly, cold, windy, and wet couple of days.
Also - I'm signed up to volunteer with Hurricane Sandy clean-up efforts in NYC, and you should too! Email nycservice@cityhall.nyc.gov to lend a hand
(I don't live in NYC, just commenting on your selflessness.)
and the shack is gone :'(
Rip forever in my heart
aww, how sad :'(
I live in California so I just don't understand why people would want to stay in the path of a hurricane or go surf in it, wtf?
Some folks just ignore them...idgi
Some people are just idiots tbh. Complete, stubborn idiots
Considering that you live in California, you should understand that not everyone has the resources to evacuate for a disaster.
I live in NYC so we don't get such crazy weather but still, we were at the brunt of the fucking storm, sometimes you just have to pack your things and go no matter what has happened in the past.
As for the beach thing--my surfer friends tell me there's no better time to surf than before a storm. It's pretty common. It's dumb (I'd be afraid of the rip currents tbh), but common.
still my decision, but i don't think it's always black and white. i'm just glad sandy didn't do anything to me in the dc region now and i wish the hurricanes would stay away from me.
just twitter/tumblr lies
Why doesn't he donate that $5M HIMSELF if he's so goddamn righteous?
and ann coulter
He needs to sit down, shut up and give the Red Cross that 5 million and be happy that he could hop on his private jet to flee the storm long before it hit.
And I side-eye all celebs who go to his parties or stay at his hotels. That may be overreacting, but idc.
Donald should also stop talking forever.
My timing.
He needs bitch-slapped like whoa.
