Green Day Cancel All 2012 Dates, Postpone 2013 Tour
The band have stated that Billie Joe's well-being is their main concern...

Two days after Metallica filled in for them as headliners at the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans, Green Day announced today (29th October) that they were cancelling all dates for 2012, as frontman Billie Joe Armstrong continues his stint in rehab.
Bassist Mike Dirnt confirmed: "Obviously, the timing for this isn't ideal, but Billie Joe's well-being is our main concern.
"We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank all of you for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can't wait to see you all again."
Green Day's tour was originally set to begin in Seattle in late September, but that date was scrapped when Armstrong entered treatment for "substance abuse."
At first, the band said they'd only miss a few promotional appearances for their trio of new albums, but soon after, they pulled out of their slot at Voodoo. And now, all remaining dates — running until a December 10th show in Tempe, Arizona — have been cancelled.
Additionally, all 2013 dates have also been postponed, though a spokesperson for the band added that those shows will be rescheduled, with an announcement coming "shortly."
Previously purchased tickets will be honoured on the new dates.
Green Day also said they will be moving forward the release date of their ¡Tre! album to December 11th (it had originally been scheduled to hit stores on January 15th next year).
"We feel bad that we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned," drummer Tre Cool in the press release. "If we couldn't be there to play it for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing."
The second instalment of Green Day's trilogy, ¡Dos! is still set to be released in November.
I wonder what his probably really is that it requires 6 months of rehab.
And it's obvious Warner just wants to cut their losses on the trilogy now and get it all out to maybe offset the losses with holiday sales. If the band isn't going to be ready to do promotion by January, why bother keeping it shelved until then? The whole thing is gonna tank, which sucks. (Not blaming Billie at all, I wanna make that clear. It's just a big pile of things not going right.)
Mostly, I'm just really sad for Billie Joe that whatever demons he's wrestling with are this serious. I hope he gets the help he needs to live his life with peace and happiness.

And yes, I think we're thinking the exact same way LOL. I just think the label is ditching the whole thing - what's the point of trying to promote 3 albums - a huge undertaking at the best of times - without your charismatic front man/singer/creator? It's a shame, because it's some great music.
I'm such a paranoid pessimist omg
I'm more than 10 years older than you, and last tour I took my 10 year old daughter. I was not the oldest person in the crowd, and she wasn't even the youngest :) They draw a really fun and diverse crowd these days - GO :)
