Homeland, which took home six Emmys last month, returned for Season 2 on Sept. 30 and was up 60% in the ratings from Season 1, says Showtime, delivering 2.07 million viewers for the night. On Sunday night, Homeland delivered its highest-rated episode ever with 1.75 million viewers at 10 p.m.

The conclusion of Season 2 is being filmed now in North Carolina. Season three will begin production spring 2013.

"The writers, cast and crew of Homeland continue to create a remarkably entertaining and suspenseful roller coaster ride," said David Nevins, president of entertainment for Showtime. "We can't wait for our viewers to experience what unfolds through the rest of season two." We can't, either.
