Singer Lady Gaga has reportedly been offered millions to star as Derek Zoolander's love interest in the sequel to the comedy - but Kates Moss and Upton are also being "considered" if she turns it down.
Lady Gaga has allegedly been offered £3 million to star in the sequel to Zoolander , the comedy about a dim-witted male model.
As we mentioned yesterday , Justin Theroux (he of Jennifer Aniston mega-rock fame ) has written the script and is set to direct the sequel, which will hit cinemas 13 years after the original first brought 'Blue Steel' into our vernacular.
Actor Ben Stiller - who not only played Derek Zoolander in the first film but co-wrote and directed it too - will reprise his role and apparently thinks Gaga "has the talent and attitude" needed to play his leading lady.
Gaga, real name Stefanie Germanotta, would play the love interest entangled in a love triangle with Zoolander and his model rival Hansel MacDonald, played by Owen Wilson, reports The Sun.
But if she turns down the offer Stiller has reportedly lined up a slew of alternative top-notch fashionistas - Kate Moss, Kate Upton, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima are all said to be alternative "candidates" for the role.
As if the prospect of any of the aforementioned ladies taking up the lead role isn't exciting enough, the first Zoolander film featured cameos from the likes of Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, Claudia Schiffer and Karl Lagerfeld, so no doubt the second instalment will be even more fashion packed.
He recently told Empire : "I don't want to give away too much, but it's basically Derek and Hansel ten years later. Though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they're not really relevant anymore. It's a new world for them."

Lady Gaga set to launch a 'healthy drinking water brand' in wake of recent weight gain criticism
Just weeks after photos surfaced of Lady Gaga looking thick around the middle, Confidenti@l has learned the pop superstar is on the verge of launching a “healthy drinking water brand” that will be floated out through a multimillion-dollar global advertising campaign.
“Gaga has been at the center of a lot of attention over her weight increase,” a spy tells us.
“Losing her weight in such a short time and launching a healthy water drink may be part of a plan.”
According to Hollywood correspondent James Desborough, designers at the Haus of Gaga creative team are putting the finishing touches on Gaga’s bottled water marketing campaign. The shape of the bottle remains a closely guarded secret among a small team of executives, under Gaga’s orders.
“Everyone at Gaga HQ is keeping very tight-lipped. There are plans being prepared for marketing strategies,” says our snitch.
This news comes a month after Gaga launched her “Fame” perfume with a party at the Guggenheim Museum, where she cocooned inside a giant version of the bottle. It had finger holes, which allowed fans to reach in and touch her.
“We know that the water drink is due out in the near future,” says our insider. “No one has seen prototypes of the bottle.”
“Gaga water is something that has been in the pipeline for a few months, and now things are really gearing up to an announcement and high-profile launch.”
As much of an innovator as Gaga is, she’s following rapper 50 Cent’s lead on pimping bottled water. In 2004, Glaceau VitaminWater offered Fiddy a minority share of the company and later let him create his own concoction, grape-flavored, vitamin-enriched Formula 50. When Coca-Cola purchased Glaceau in 2007, Forbes magazine estimated 50 Cent cleared $100 million, which put him at the top of its “Hip Hop’s Top Earners” list.
If Gaga’s water brand succeeds, it may buoy her back to the top of Forbes “Celebrity 100” ranking, where she was in 2011 after earning $90 million. This year, her relatively paltry $52 million income landed her in fifth place, while J.Lo skyrocketed to Forbes’ No. 1 spot.
Lady Gaga’s reps didn’t respond for comment.

FASHIONABLE THORN IN CRITIC’S SIDE
A glamorous rocker who pals around with designer Hedi Slimane has branded New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn a savage monster.
It’s the latest salvo between the creative director for Saint Laurent Paris and the newswoman — who was not invited to the designer’s debut runway show during Paris Fashion Week, but trashed his collection anyway with a negative review.
“Cathy Horyn is a [expletive] troll,” Liza Thorn, a frequent subject of Slimane’s photography and self-described “muse” for the designer, told Confidenti@l at Heathers bar, where she was deejaying Tuesday.
“Hedi is rock ’n’ roll and he’s not going to invite who he doesn’t want.”
The new attack follows barbs between the designer and Horyn, who was not invited to Slimane’s Oct. 1 ready-to-wear show, where Thorn was seated front row next to Marc Jacobs. After Horyn’s negative review, based solely on photos, Slimane called her a “schoolyard bully.”
Thorn went on to criticize the French fashion cognoscenti, most of whom panned the line she helped inspire. “Paris is for rich people,” said Thorn. “Paris is a shopping mall.”
Around 2 a.m., Thorn left with her Starred bandmate Matthew Koshak. They'll play Saturday at Pianos on the lower East Side.

Lady Gaga getting on her bike for charity
Lady Gaga is organising a charity cycle ride to raise awareness of body image issues.
The pop superstar launched her own charity, the Born This Way Foundation, earlier this year to empower youngsters and stop bullying, and she recently won praise from campaigners for talking publicly about her own battles with eating disorders and self-esteem issues.
She is now stepping up her fight by teaming with Soul Cycle, a U.S. company which offers indoor cycle spinning classes, to put together a charity bike ride in aid of her foundation.
Lady Gaga has dubbed the event the Ride for Compassion and she is urging her fans to get in touch and share their ideas.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, she writes, "I'm organising right now with Soul Cycle a Body Revolution cycling 'Ride For Compassion' with the BTW Foundation. Please send us your ideas... We want to know what is important to you in relation to body image and helping those w (with) disabilities. What do u (sic) want this ride to accomplish?"

I'd love to see her in Zoolander though.
But hey, divorce is pretty common in the celeb world.

as far as her and tara, theyve been more than just friends imo. theyve been way to sexual & inseparable for a while now. she spends more time w/her than taylor & and if she was soo in love w/taylor like she eludes, than she wouldnt stray like that w/tara. its cheating in my book. plain & simple. so yes, i am judging gaga actually oop. i guess i just want her to make a choice. either be w/taylor full on, or not at all. this wont work for long. shes the one that started it. she brought the attention towards tara. i woulda neva cared or noticed otherwise. excuse me for liking her relationship w/tara for whatever they wanna label it as.
Honestly, I probably replied to you because I was sick of people assuming a woman is a lesbian for holding hands with her bff in public like I always see with westerners.
