Smizer of the World wants babies before her eggs are scrambled

Her modeling career has spanned over 22 years, and it could keep going (and going), but Tyra Banks admits she's ready to try something new ... motherhood.

In an interview airing Oct. 17, the 38-year-old "America's Next Top Model" host tells Steve Harvey that she's eager to start a family and feels like her biological clock is running out.

"I'm really ready to have some babies. I want babies!" she explains in a clip from "The Steve Harvey Show." "I've always wanted them, but I've been saying 'I want babies in three years' since I was, like, 27. And now I'm 28," Banks says with a chuckle. "No, I'm 38 -- I think it's time. [My eggs are] going to be hard-boiled and fried and scrambled up in there, so it's time to get those eggs working!"

As for who she wants to have kids with, Banks says that's still up in the air. But, she wants to set one thing straight -- she's not dating her 24-year-old "ANTM" co-star, Rob Evans.

"There's been a lot of rumors that I've been dating certain people, all these young boys ... ain't true," Banks admits with a scowl. "I ain't a cougar!"

angelmonster 18th-Oct-2012 01:07 am (UTC)

I had no idea Steve Harvey had a talk show.
dumpyfledgling 18th-Oct-2012 01:23 am (UTC)
mte. I thought he was still hosting Family Feud.
reach_the_end 18th-Oct-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
She wants to have babies simply to give the world more Tyra.
angelmonster 18th-Oct-2012 01:08 am (UTC)
She will pass her soul into one of them when she dies, the other is backup.

horcrux, much? lolll
vehiclesshockme 18th-Oct-2012 01:04 am (UTC)
Whenever a celeb starts talking out of the blue about how they really want babies now it makes me think that they're already pregnant, I don't know why.
smokesinatra 18th-Oct-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
I miss her talk show. Shit was gold. Also, controversial opinion: I'm bitter towards my parents for having me as late as they did (at age 35).
chiihiro 18th-Oct-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
My mom was 36 when she had me and my dad was 44. I love hearing my dad's stories of growing up in the '50s and '60s.
smokesinatra 18th-Oct-2012 01:22 am (UTC)
my bitterness is mostly irrational. I just feel like I won't get to have as much time with them as most people get to have with their parents.
cickiz 18th-Oct-2012 01:56 am (UTC)
I agree with you on both counts.I loved her show because she had stupid topics that weren't really on other shows. My mom was 39 my dad 47? when they had me. I hate it because I'm so young (24) and taking care of elderly parents. I should be doing this when I have an established career and stability in my life.
gabunny 18th-Oct-2012 02:32 am (UTC)
My boyfriend's parents had him at like 35/40 and they give me occasional talks about how noone should ever want to become a father/mother younger than that and then they look at me sternly, it's quite difficult to nod politely.
soupdupcosmogrl 18th-Oct-2012 02:39 am (UTC)
Yes to both of these. My mom was 37 when she had me, 29 when my brother was born.
devochkazhenya 18th-Oct-2012 01:05 am (UTC)
I just realized that I forgot to eat dinner. The thing about scrambled eggs reminded me
jessepinkman 18th-Oct-2012 01:06 am (UTC)
I SAID OVER EASYYYY
queenweasley 18th-Oct-2012 01:06 am (UTC)
Kind of related: I work with a bunch of young women around my age (23) or younger who said a few months ago that they wanted to have kids soon so they wouldn't be an "old parent." They had no response to my protests about finishing school, establishing a stable household, or just enjoying your twenties - all they were concerned about was not being "old" compared to other parents when their future kids are in school. Wtf. My parents were 32 when I was born and I never thought of them as old, nor do I now.
jessepinkman 18th-Oct-2012 01:09 am (UTC)
2Each their own but I cringed when I found out my coworkers daughter just got married got preg on the honeymoon and doesn't turn 21 til nov
truthisadrug 18th-Oct-2012 01:09 am (UTC)
I feel people sometimes have different ideas based on how old their parents were when they had them. My parents were young, early twenties, but I'm in my early twenties now and am in no real rush. However my cousin is like 25 and almost panicky about it because she constantly talks about wanting to be a young mom like hers was.
angelmonster 18th-Oct-2012 01:09 am (UTC)
I am 26 and everyone my age at work has kids, they make fun of me for it. I don't know how they do it, I would have a fit having a child right now I wouldn't be able to handle it.
janeeyre 18th-Oct-2012 01:12 am (UTC)
Same.
fashionbb 18th-Oct-2012 02:47 am (UTC)
I think most people would rather NOT have kids that young. I mean you have your whole life ahead of you. Your 20's are suppose to be about figuring things out. Once you have a kid, that is completely out the door. You don't have freedom. You can't go out and party, you can't just do things on your own. Like most 20 year olds don't have a career established etc. If you're a celebrity though, I think sometimes it can be a bit different (ie Hilary Duff...but I still think she's super young).

angelmonster 18th-Oct-2012 01:11 am (UTC)
They also seem like bad parents if 'being a young, cool parent' is their priority.
janeeyre 18th-Oct-2012 01:13 am (UTC)
I'm 27 and enjoy my freedom! My mom had me at 22 and wasn't ready for children, so I'm going to be dam sure I'm ready.
ludagurl3d 18th-Oct-2012 01:15 am (UTC)
shows how selfish they are. they are concerned about themselves and their age, versus their future child's needs. most kids would like to be born into security and stable financial situation. sadly, it's always the stupid fucks that breed.
chiihiro 18th-Oct-2012 01:22 am (UTC)
My mom was 36 when she had me and my dad was 44 and I doubt either of them planned to have me so late in life. Sometimes life happens and you can't plan these things out the way you'd like.
cerseilannister 18th-Oct-2012 01:26 am (UTC)
i'd rather be an older parent. idk my mom had me at 30 so young parents always seemed strange to me.
aphrodite5239 18th-Oct-2012 01:38 am (UTC)
i'm 22 and pretty sure i never want to have children. i don't want anyone to have all my bad qualities, lol
starfish11 18th-Oct-2012 01:42 am (UTC)
I had my first baby at 24, and I'm ten years younger than basically every other parent of the kids in his class. I didn't think I was that young at the time (finished school and uni) but for this area it seems like I was. Having kids in your thirties is much more the norm now.
yurasama_love 18th-Oct-2012 01:50 am (UTC)
I thought of my parents as old, but then anyone in the double digits was old to me.
Now that my dad's sixty and continues to smoke despite a stroke in the past makes me worry.
cickiz 18th-Oct-2012 01:57 am (UTC)
I kind of feel like that too because my parents had their first kid in their early 30s and then had me in their 40s. I guess it was okay for my older sisters to have parents that age but the later ages sucked for me.
kapuki234 18th-Oct-2012 01:58 am (UTC)
they sound dumb.
nannerpuss 18th-Oct-2012 02:31 am (UTC)
I feel like mentally and biologically I want kids already, and I'm only 22. But I'm broke and so are the guys I date so...
chantemarissa 18th-Oct-2012 01:08 am (UTC)
i can't see the video?
ludagurl3d 18th-Oct-2012 01:12 am (UTC)
i feel like she's too narcissistic to have a child. then again, she can afford nannies who will ultimately raise the child anyway...

my mom had me at 39. i like having older parents. they had money when i came around and weren't young and struggling.
wildel 18th-Oct-2012 02:36 pm (UTC)
mte. I also think that's why she's never been married, all her relationshios fail, etc. She loves herself way too much to love anyone else, lol.
angelmonster 18th-Oct-2012 01:12 am (UTC)
OBGYN: Ms Banks just breathe, the baby is breach.

I am going to hell.
runaround_kid 18th-Oct-2012 01:14 am (UTC)
"There's been a lot of rumors that I've been dating certain people, all these young boys ... ain't true," Banks admits with a scowl. "I ain't a cougar!"

now sis i know you hooked up with drake. please.
boymilk 18th-Oct-2012 01:15 am (UTC)
This post also offers up a deep question: How do you like your eggs?
I only like scrambled eggs, deviled eggs, and hardboiled. I don't like it when the yolk is runny. No ty.

one_hoopy_frood 18th-Oct-2012 01:18 am (UTC)
Scrambled eggs mostly taste too bland for me. And they get cold too fast. I like omelets and hard-boiled the best.
boymilk 18th-Oct-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
Oh, I completely forgot about omelets. I love mushroom and spinach omelets with hollandaise.
ericasays 18th-Oct-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
i want to like eggs, but i just can't. they're too weird and the texture is never right and they're soft but firm and that weird white connective tissue piece...

and that burp you get after you eat eggs? ughhhhhh
cerseilannister 18th-Oct-2012 01:25 am (UTC)
sunny side up
i love yolk idec
eye_browz 18th-Oct-2012 01:29 am (UTC)
scrambled HARD...i don't want my scrambled eggs to be dripping off my fork
also like hard boiled and deviled eggs are delicious
voyevoda 18th-Oct-2012 01:30 am (UTC)
Over easy, I think is the term? Cooked, but soft yolk, sopped up with bread mmmm~

I also enjoy eggs benny and devilled eggs.
anna_karenina_x 18th-Oct-2012 01:33 am (UTC)
Scrambled with cheddar cheese. But not very often, most mornings I do oatmeal :/
marywebgirl 18th-Oct-2012 01:34 am (UTC)
Over hard. I had a bad experience with half cooked scrambled eggs when I was in high school.
georgie_georgie 18th-Oct-2012 01:42 am (UTC)
greek omelets are delicious.
yurasama_love 18th-Oct-2012 01:52 am (UTC)
Scrambled, full-fried, hard-boiled, and deviled.
scottfreein4_d 18th-Oct-2012 02:22 am (UTC)
any way but raw tbh.
harrypotterlvr3 18th-Oct-2012 02:31 am (UTC)
scrambled or hard boiled

i love eggs but it's so easy to fuck them up and make them nasty
nannerpuss 18th-Oct-2012 02:34 am (UTC)
I like all (including runny yolk) except for scrambled and hardboiled. Scrambled eggs are too easy, and hardboiled smell like straight up farts. I've legit vomited before because someone was breathing in my face while eating a hardboiled egg.
thetxbelle 18th-Oct-2012 01:18 am (UTC)
I think we've decided not to have kids but every month it's really hard on me because my body is screaming at me to have babies and I get really emotional over shit like baby clothes and hallmark ads.
anna_karenina_x 18th-Oct-2012 01:34 am (UTC)
Sounds rough, bb
