Tuesday's debate between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney covered everything from Libya to gun control to health care -- but the biggest takeaway from the night wasn't related to policy or politics. It was a single, simple phrase: "binders full of women."
Responding to a question about gender income inequality, Governor Romney told the moderator that he had made a point of seeking out female applicants for his gubernatorial cabinet in Massachusetts.
"We took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet," the Republican candidate explained. "I went to a number of women's groups and said, 'Can you help us find folks?' And they brought us whole binders full of women."
Those last four words -- "binders full of women" -- set the Internet abuzz, spawning countless tweets, Tumblr posts, and Photoshopped pics of women in binders. Celebs weighed in, too -- some with jokes, others with political statements.
"Women should temporarily crawl out of their crowded binders to watch this," Parks and
Recreation actress Rashida Jones tweeted, linking to a YouTube video about the "war on women's health."
Comedian Aisha Tyler tied Romney's comment to lyrics from a hip hop song, writing: "Ludacris: 'I got hoes in different area codes.' Romney: 'I got binders full of women.'"
"The main thing I took from tonight is that I need a binder full of women," Zach Braff said.
Added Grey's Anatomy star Jesse Williams: "Where does one find these 'binders full of women' who 'need to be more flexible'? Asking for a friend."
"I'm gonna pitch it as a show," Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes joked of the meme. "BINDERS FULL OF WOMEN: a new show about women trapped in binders by rich men who never had to work 4 anything."
Quipped Chris Rock: "There are going to be #bindersfullofwomen voting for Obama on Nov. 6."

He then stated that he was mindful of the fact that these fake women had to be home in time to fake cook a fake dinner for their fake family.
/uninformed Canadian.
in that 47% are retirees, disabled people, students, military, and those who don't earn enough to file a tax return.
I think the Big Bird comment and his opinions on women were small points but they show a large picture about him as a person.

i sat in the back of class, near rows and rows of old, beat up, vandalized national geographics. for some reason, i would casually leaf through and whenever i saw an old woman, i would cut her out and put it on the front of my binder. by the end of the semester, i had a binder full of women.
Also I put too much thought into this.
you need to show this binder to romney
unwanted children, in a committed relationship or in a single parent situation, can lead to people who grow up to turn to crime because they didn't have a great start/enough attention
that's what they hypothesised from the data anyway
I'm a single mom to two teenage sons so I better save up bail money for them instead of college money

I think he thought he was clever and that no one would catch on that he meant, "Ungodly gays and trampish whores are the reason what's wrong with America. Destroy them! PS Bomb China"
Guess we should snatch up all those kids from widows and widowers so they don't buy automatic weapons and fund terrorism like all the gays and sluts do.
That shit seriously just made me rage so fucking much. My mom leaving my dad was the best thing that could have happened to both of us and I wish I had been part of a single parent home sooner.
...Fucking asshole.
i am here for this post
I was super pissed when ryan went on to talk about how Romney paid a guys bills. He CAN'T pay everyone's bills, so how are you going help people pay their own ridiculous medical and educational debts?
