Dizzee Rascal has claimed that he has been asked to voice the Coco Pops monkey.
The rapper made the announcement on Twitter and posted a picture of himself mimicking the popular character Coco drinking the cereal.
"REAL TALK! I've just been asked to do the voice over for the coco pops monkey! I always wanted to be the Milky Bar Kid... Oh well!" Dizzee tweeted.
However, the star hinted that he took offence to the offer and added the hashtag "#Thisracismiskillingmeinside".
Dizzee Rascal is currently working on the follow-up to his 2009 record Tongue n' Cheek, which reached number three on the UK chart.

I never followed him closely but I love a few of his songs.
Still my favourite childhood cereal though. Especially when the milk went chocolatey.
i love dizzee though
I'm glad he turned them now becuase based on the title alone and knowing what he's like I thought he'd said yes.
Kinda OT
but I only just found out he's Ghanian, didn't expect that at all.

'kate moss has lost her lipstick son! it's a disaster!'
While this might seem like a small thing, it still plays into racist ideology.

Have you heard Dizzie Rascal speak?
It is not like they are hiring some random voice over artist. there is going to be a lot of press around it if they went ahead with it so, it is not a situation where they can hide the race of the person. Even so, it is bound to come out. It might not be racially motivated, but it is racially ignorant.

How can racial ignorance be "no big deal"?
Monkeys were part of minstrel acts back in the day. It is a step away from shucking and jiving.
Sorry just had to put that out there, as he isn't just called 'the coco pops monkey' #partofmychildhood #sorryforhastaging
Also
WTF where they thinking? Kellogg's seriously wtf!
Then he fell off the general public radar for a while and then I read an article about how he had all this success and some of his local "friends" tried to bring him down, and basically said he was not being faithful to his roots and they just tried to blag his money and keep him at their level. That's a real UK working class thing, if you go 'up' you ain't one of them anymore and you're a snob and stuff (what I got called by my family for going to university lol).
Anyway, at some point the kid said 'Fuck that and Fuck you' and next thing I know, he's on TV wearing a gold suit singing 'Bonkers', like a 100% turn from who he was when he first got famous.
I actually credit Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer for some of his change in attitude - he was on Shooting Stars and he's a) confused, and a little bit defensive b) moody and a little bit defensice then, c) laughing his arse off at the WTF
Edit: what the fuck at the coco pops thing, YES THAT'S RACIST OMG.

Then again they always did try to make Coca sound like he was black...smh
It doesn't help that the dude seems over the moon about it.
What's exactly the problem here?
I would love to hear what he sounds like, because that might be a clue as to why he was asked to be the voice.
