It's just funny how conservatives chide liberals constantly for being too sensitive and constantly wanting to play the victim, but any chance they get, no matter how minor or ridiculous, they whine and cry about being persecuted in the "liberal media".
Also, shut the fuck up about "backlash" on Twitter. If you say anything on Twitter you get backlash. It's not real stop treating it like it is you fucking morons.
MFTE...that's why i don't feel too bad for stacy dash lol i'm sure she's been on twitter long enough to have be trolled prior to the romney thing. going on twitter and being shocked by the troll accts is like eating at taco bell and being shocked it gave you diarrhea
Also, I know that Elisabeth is the main target of everyone's vitriol, but I honestly think Whoopi is worse. I honestly don't think she has any grasp of reality anymore.
I agreed with Whoopi in regards to the death threats being totally unacceptable. But she was clearly trying to deflect and avoid giving her opinion on Dash's comments themselves.
I mean obviously no one thinks that death threats are acceptable, and no one is going to go on TV and say that, which is why that part of the shit is totally redundant and not worth getting fired up like she did over it. My main issue is that she's harping on the fact that she's a "nice girl" or whatever, and with Whoopi, she seems to be in that weird Hollywood zone where people refuse to speak ill of those who they are Hollywood friendly with. She pulled the same shit when she was defending Mel Gibson. Both she and Elisabeth derail arguments so horribly that they aren't even talking about the subject at hand anymore. It's maddening.
Oh yeah, she does toe the line when it comes to Hollywood stars. It is maddening to see her compromise good sense and fall over herself to kiss the asses of Gibson and Polanski so she'll be *loved* in Hollywood.
I get that in the US, freedom of speach is important. But what about the freedom to just shut up? Elisabeth, Whoopie and Barbara would so benefit from it.
mte like wtf barbara? kelly clarkson got a lot of flack for supporting ron paul (well and she got more followers...) but still people voiced not liking it
I hate this show. It aggravates the fuck out of me. It's an hour of pressed women talking over each other and perpetuating the "woman nag" stereotype. No thanks.
whoopi's point about there being no middle ground in american politics is exactly how i feel. i live in canada but since i started following this election the biggest thing i've noticed is how partisan EVERYTHING is. my parents have never aligned themselves with a party and i don't think i ever would either, for me it's about which candidate seems like the best leader. i've never understood the concept of aligning oneself completely with one specific party.
I enjoy the constant spew of hate any republican person, celebrity or otherwise, offered on ontd.
"being" a republican doesn't mean you are a dumbass; it means someone has an opinion that is different than yours.
As someone else said, aligning yourself with one of the two major parties - who are essentially the same thing packaged differently - is just as dumb, so sit the fuck down with your hate. I'm sure most liberal-leaning people on this site are typing from Boston or Seattle, but there's a whole other country out there, and their opinion and voice counts just as much as yours.
Plus, we're all people living in the same country. The US can be such an insufferable place.
