Police in Sacramento, CA have interviewed a WWE fan who was punched in the face by CM Punk during a live televised event Monday night ... TMZ has learned.
The incident occurred on "Monday Night Raw" -- when Punk went into the crowd after a match ... and several fans began to get physical with him.
At first, Punk shrugged off the fans ... but the wrestler snapped when someone made contact with the back of Punk's head.
Punk unleashes a punch at the person he thinks hit him ... taking the guy down hard.
The victim met with police shortly after the incident ... and a rep for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Dept. tells us the man didn't appear to have any major injuries that required medical attention.
But later that night, the victim re-contacted police ... and said he had developed pain in his knees.
Cops say officers took the victim's statement and are determining whether to conduct a full investigation into the matter.
A rep for the WWE tells TMZ, "WWE security was unfortunately not in the appropriate place at the time. Given CM Punk's persona as a 'bad guy' fans were naturally heckling him, but unfortunately a few fans began shoving him and one struck him in the kidney and on the back."
The rep adds, "WWE regrets that proper security measures were not in place, and CM Punk apologizes for reacting in the heat of the moment."

Between this and the Alberto Del Rio incident over the weekend, they are really making their anti-bullying campaign seem pointless.
The real douchebag was that kid next to him who kept shoving him.
The grass is green

Lemme just make sure that the snow is white first
“I think the whole situation sucks,” Punk told WWE.com. “It’s an unfortunate and isolated incident. I was up in the stands, surrounded.”
“Somebody said, ‘let’s push him down the stairs,’” Punk explained. “I got hit in the ribs three times. I was getting shoved and I was getting punched…Then I started getting tagged in the back of the head. Unfortunately, I lashed out in the heat of the moment and I apologize. I’m really just glad nobody was hurt."
There's also other tape of the incident out there.
I do think Punk is a dickhead, however in this situation it's not like he just walked up and popped the guy unprovoked. The crowd was riled up and trying to shove him down the steps and he struck the wrong person.

I need a shower.
But he's still hot.
Seriously though. Did anyone see the Giants/Reds game tonight? Hunter Pence, man.....Something is wrong with that dude. Haha.
Someone said it best on twitter:
"Brian Wilson looks like he's trying to look like a serial killer. Hunter Pence looks like a serial killer"
They should have kept Nate Schierholtz
But that was two seconds ago. This is me now:
The WWE really should have had security there though.
Usually when a stunt is planned that would take a wrestler into the audience for any reason whatsoever, even during matches, there is a detail of at least 5 WWE security people, with several more arena security backing them up in the area of the stunt/entrance/exit.
They normally LITERALLY line the exit/entrance route with both WWE and Arena security people for something like Punk did on Monday. Somehow, it didn't get done this time, but I have seen that maybe once or twice before in years of both working backstage and watching the shows.
Also my favourite Diva will always be this bitch
RIP girl.
PS I've always wanted to go as Luna for Halloween and was going to last year until my sister said, "Everyone's going to think you're Gaga!" :D

I also loved Candice Michelle before I stopped watching.
Or the guy talked to someone who told him injury=money in this situation. Cause, you know, pain in the knees from getting punched in the face twice? The guy's face isn't even bruised.
Or worse yet...what if it had been some dude with a short fuse, who also knew how to fight?
That could have blown up in his face so bad, so fast.
He wasn't going after the person pushing him though, he was going after who he thought hit him in the head.
