Taraji P. Henson Finally Makes TV GUIDE Cover After 2011 Snub
TV Guide Cover Stars
Person of Interest stars Taraji P. Henson, Jim Caviezel, and Michael Emerson make a splash on the October 15 - 21 TV Guide cover.
TV GUIDE *cancelled* the September 2011 "PERSON OF INTEREST" cover after Taraji P. Henson - an Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee - spoke out about being snubbed. In response, TV GUIDE gave the three stars of another action show, "CHARLIE'S ANGELS", the cover. That show was cancelled after several episodes, and "PERSON OF INTEREST" became the #1 New Drama Series of the 2011-2012 television season.
Sept. 21, 2011 - TooFab spoke with Debra Birnbaum, the Editor-in-Chief of TV Guide Magazine and TVGuideMagazine.com, to see what was behind the decision to feature only the male stars.
"I made an editorial decision to do a story about the relationship between the two male characters on 'Person of Interest' and that's who I was going to put on the cover," Birnbaum tells TooFab exclusively. "That has been my decision all along, ever since I saw the pilot. We're certainly fans of Taraji Henson and her storyline on the show was never intended to be the focus of our cover story. I don't know where there was a misunderstanding about this, but it's been clear to everyone from the start. I don't make decisions on who is put and not put on the cover based on race or gender." "This week's cover September 26 issue features the three stars of 'Charlie's Angels' -- Minka Kelly, Annie Illonzeh and Rachael Taylor. We are not pursuing a cover of 'Person of Interest' at this time."

I can't even handle it. This show is amazing.
The Editor in Chief sounds like a dick. Umm, she has a huge central role in the show. Its not a show about a white male bromance.
She's talented, beautiful, and has a radiant personality. I'm glad she's finding success, but she still isn't given enough credit.
kind of like kardashian. i never watched the show and avoided most of the ontd KKK posts pre-2011, so i automatically thought it was kashardian.
Werq!
Her character is less irritating and goofy this season sort of damning with faint praise... but the character also works better now that she's not as uninformed and is more integrated w/the shenanigans.
Maybe half or 2/3 of last season her character bugged me but I loved the ep with her son and liked her more once she stopped being an adversary. I like her on the guys' side. That was a very good decision IMO. She should be on the team, especially if they're going to have big baddies as well as a stream of weekly lesser bad guys to deal with -- they could use all the help they can get.
idk i love the suspense, there's decent character development considering how new the show is, the actors are brilliant, you get questions answered during each episode but have more by the end, etc.
if you like shows like Revenge and Justified, i think you'll like POI.
