On why he has crutches:
"I got attacked by a squirrel in Battersea Park. They're dangerous. It's rare. I've torn most of the ligaments in my knee."
They may look like friendly and slightly hilarious looking woodland creatures, but after a run in that's left him hobbling about on crutches, it sounds like One Direction's Niall Horan will be staying away from squirrels for the time being.
Enjoying a casual game of footie up the park, an unsuspecting Niall was apparently set upon by a band of rogue woodland creatures, who seem to be to blame for his dodgy leg he's got at the moment.
For once it wasn't just Zayn and the badger that rides about on his head getting rowdy after one too many Babybells either, and the whole experience has apparently even left Niall in need of surgery on his knee.
Having finally managed to stop crying longing enough to speak about the ordeal, Nialler explained what happened to Capital FM.
"A squirrel attacked me," he said. "I got attacked by a squirrel in Battersea Park. They're dangerous. It's rare.
“I've torn most of the ligaments in my knee. So no football for me.
“It's early retirement now. I've got a floating knee-cap!”
We can almost imagine what his nightmares are going to look like from now on..
