Fox Orders a Full Season of 'The Mindy Project,' Six Additional Eps of 'Ben & Kate'



Fox is going all the way with The Mindy Project, picking up the freshman comedy for a full 22-episode season.

Additionally, the network has ordered six additional episodes of fellow rookie Ben and Kate, bringing that sitcom’s Season 1 haul to 19.

Both shows have been modest ratings performers, but Fox Chairman Kevin Reilly said in a statement that they possess “everything we want to stand for in comedy: smart writing, hugely appealing casts and comedy that feels contemporary and real, which is why we’re confident they will continue to build on what is already an appointment comedy night for young, influential audiences on Tuesdays.”

Loving The Mindy Project so far, but Ben and Kate's second episode was kind of a let down. I hope it gets better.

It's a good show, but if you're gonna watch it just for her, you'll probably be disappointed. She's gotten like 2 minutes of screen time so far.

Aww, that's disappointing. She was totally underused on GG, I was hoping someone else would see her potential and give her more to do.

I enjoy Ben & Kate and it makes a nice addition to the Tuesday line up but I'm turning the channel after New Girl since The Mindy Project was god awful boring.

Mte, he was the best part of that episode. I'm sticking around for him, and for Chris Messina, who I strangely crush on, and because I believe that Mindy has the potential to make this show great.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mindy project and have watched the first two episodes more than once. As an Iranian, I really appreciate seeing an Indian woman be the lead in a show like this, and play a character that is so unapologetic about doing whatever she wants. The ONLY thing I wish this show had was a more unconventional set of supporting actresses. They all look like models with very little personality, and I wish they lived up to message that Mindy sets by being so awesome.

Oh shit, is that Amanda Setton in that picture? She is on a TV show again!?!?!? Ahh, I was OBSESSED with her on Gossip Girl. What is her role in this show? Is she on it a lot? Is it enough screen time to be worth my incredibly valuable time to watch this show??

She plays a receptionist I think and she doesn't get a lot of screentime tbh. But maybe as the season goes on they'll focus some storylines on her?

It's not enough screentime so far, she's just a receptionist.
She was the best on Gossip Girl. I always just assumed SHE was the HBIC of the school, like seriously.
