"Battlestar Galactica" veteran Katee Sackhoff is gearing up for another action-packed battle and this time it'll be on the bigscreen, as she's agreed to join former MMA fighter Gina Carano in an all-female riff on "The Expendables" that 1984 Private Defense Contractors is producing.
Adi Shankar will produce for 1984 Private Defense Contractors, which plans to fully finance the "Expendables"-inspired project.
Dutch Southern ("Hoof Harrington's Greatest Hits") was tapped to write the estrogen-powered action pic back in August, and several prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre continue to circle the project.
"If you spend five minutes with Katee it becomes blatantly obvious that she would pwn (sic) most male action stars," said Shankar, (you got that right) who recently co-produced Joe Carnahan's "The Grey," Pete Travis' "Dredd 3D" and Andrew Dominik's upcoming Brad Pitt starrer "Killing Them Softly," which The Weinstein Company will release Nov. 30.
Sackhoff, who gained a sizable following after playing Capt. Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace on "Battlestar Galactica," recently starred on A&E Network's "Longmire" and also played a key role in the eighth season of "24." Thesp will soon be seen battling aliens alongside Vin Diesel in Universal's untitled "Chronicles of Riddick" sequel and has also wrapped "The Haunting in Georgia" and "Sexy Evil Genius." She's currently shooting Film District's horror pic "Oculus" with Brenton Thwaites and Rory Cochrane.

What do you think ONTD? You gonna be first in line for this with me?

Still hoping though that they will cast some badass women over 40/50. Looking at you Weaver and Hamilton. Because lbr - the best part about The Expendables movie is all the old male action stars enjoying themselves while kicking ass.
and also, are they all going to be whities?
they might let zoe saldana make a cameo
I'm still too pissed off about Jet Li in the Expendables.
There was some kind of flismy political-esque plot for the first movie. Haven't seen the second yet.
Probably. An looking like a good gust of wind could blow them over too.
good choice for favourite
imo
How far along are you? (and did you watch the miniseries to start with? I tell everyone to do that because of the character stuff it sets up, but I promise my stanning is justified)
and
please and thank you
and omg Lucy was incredible in that film

LADYBONERS EVERYWHERE
hf both these queens starring with Katee, prob. not going to actually happen but a girl can dream.
that ending of hers makes me want to throw things sometimes (ok, all the time)
that's how it goes
