The Ohio Film Office said it is offering a $3 million rebate incentive to producers of a new horror film which could be shot in the Hocking Hills. The movie would be based on the novel Crooked Tree which centers around attacks in northern Michigan as well as Native American folk lore. Johnny Depp is reported to be a fan of the book, which has a large following. Depp is reported to possibly be considering a starring role in the film.
"Johnny Depp at our cabins! What a thrill that would be!" said guest specialist Paula Enderle with Lazy Lane Cabins.
Lazy Lane is nestled in the Hocking Hills not far from Old Man's Cave. The facility has 40 cabins available to rent. Enderle hopes all would be rented out by actors, producers and film crews.
"We would be able to accommodate quite a few of them," Enderle said.
A few miles down the road at The Inn at Cedar Falls, guest specialist Misty Rigney said that local tourism officials brought one of the movie's producers through her inn to discuss the possibility of a cast party.
"It sounds pretty neat to me. It would bring a lot of potential guests to the area," Rigney said.
The Ohio Film Office (OFO) said that it would offer approximately $3 million in incentives to producers in order to bring the movie to the Hocking Hills. While the deal is not finalized yet, OFO said it is hopeful Ohio will be chosen.
If so, producers will cast 220 locals as extras for the movie which could be shot in Ohio next spring. No information has been posted yet for those auditions however the OFO said it will post notice on its website and recommends checking there in a couple of months.

One thing I do find odd, though, is that none of it's in French. You'd think that being raised mostly in France, it would be her default language.

This is an actual problem? JFC. Its tragic that a good looking young woman can't just live her teenage life without fear someone will turn her image into something sinister.
