Law and Order: SVU's Richard Belzer Jokes About Molestation and Sodomy, Gives Nazi Salute on Morning
Richard Belzer doesn't mince words—or gestures—when it comes to his feelings about Fox News.
Popping up on New York City's local Fox affiliate's Good Day New York to plug his new book, the Law and Order: SVU star definitely gave the morning gabbers something to talk about after he not only made an unfunny sodomy quip, but bid their corporate siblings at Fox News goodbye with a Nazi salute.
We guess someone forgot to tell him Hitler jokes are verboten?
As the segment came to a close, the 68-year-old actor-comic was asked by Good Day cohost Rosanna Scotto whether her on-air partner Dave Price might resemble him enough to play his brother on Law & Order.
To which Belzer tartly replied: "A thought. If he gets molested and banged in the ass, maybe, I don't know."
His answer didn't go over so well with Price, who looked mighty uncomfortable and responded, "Do we have a five-second delay?"
At that point, the sardonic comedian tried a not-so-comic recovery, saying he meant "banging" as in "banging into a piece of furniture." Then, just as the show was about to end, Belzer—who is Jewish—cracked, "Say heil to all your colleagues at the other division."
We presume Belzer, a frequent panelist on HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher, was referring to Fox News specifically, given the criticism he's lobbed at the cable news network in the past.
