What are your thoughts on Twitter and Facebook? Would you have to be held at gunpoint to join them?
I know nothing about Twitter, and I can only roughly assess Facebook. Twitter seems useful in some ways because you are no longer at the mercy of press interpretation, but Facebook is too self-gratifying. You might think you have 900 friends, but it's an illusion. You might as well live in a lighthouse off the Scottish highlands. People think that they are in touch because they print a few lines everyday, but to me it seems like the essence of loneliness.
What was the last great song by a new/recent act you heard? And are you a fan of The Killers who regularly cite you as an influence?
I find it difficult to be anything other than honest, and this makes me sound like an old crank. I can't say ‘Yes’ when I mean ‘No’ - my jaw literally locks. Lonely Day by System of a Down would be the last song I absolutely loved, and Born That Way by James Maker is the greatest single of the last decade. The Killers asked me to sing with them this month in New York, but I'm just not the type. I stick to my own backyard.
Russell Brand is a friend and fan of yours - do you have a favourite example of his celluloid work?
I love Russell, but the films are a bit cheeky-wonky-daft-Dudley Moore British-pottiness for me, and Russell's voice has a higher pitch with each film - it's almost a squeal now. I wish he'd do King Lear, or something, because he'd be magnificent.

Cackling rn, omg this guy. He knows he's Brandon Flowers' lifelong idol, that's so cold. I agree with what he says about Facebook though.
Morrissey throws more shade: on Facebook, The Killers, Russell Brand

tho this is kind of tame by his standards
Says the "Carry On" fan...
This reminds me of Kstew.
people that complain about fb are ridic.
you don't like it? stop going there. it's a website. you don't have to do it.
I use it to keep in touch with my friends, since we're scattered throughout the country.
I feel like people who don't use facebook often are "forgotten" about tbh... like if they're not someone you see all the time, you might forget to invite them to do things & such. Even with cellphones & texting, I think people tend to communicate to each other more through social media.
Everything has it's downside though.
/good lord, i cannot type tonight

Also it's how I keep up w/ their art.
Also, the young moms who don't work and put "Full Time Mommy!" as their occupation and do nothing but post about little Jhaydynn's first shit in the potty or how little Haeleigh won't go to sleep make me want to rub ground glass in my eyes. I hide that rubbish from my feed.
sorry i needed to rant,.
