Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed Trilogies Being Bundled Together for Holiday Season

EA and BioWare today announced that the entire Mass Effect series is going to be bundled together into the Mass Effect Trilogy for a release this Holiday season on the Xbox 360, PC and PS3. Interestingly, the original Mass Effect will finally be made available for the PS3 as part of this compilation and also available digitally on the PSN.

Xbox 360 and PC gamers will be able to get their hands on the Mass Effect Trilogy on November 6th for $59.99. The PS3 version will launch at a later date, but still within the Holiday window. Based on the press release, it doesn’t sound as if the DLC will be bundled in.

They also announced the first annual ”N7 Day” to coincide with the release of the compilation.

Winner of over 300 awards. Recipient of over 200 perfect scores. A universe that has expanded beyond games to comics, novels, apparel, collectibles, action figures and more. The Mass Effect franchise has become one of the most heralded series in video game history. BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts, today unveiled the Mass Effect Trilogy, a compilation of all three award-winning Mass Effect games in one box. Available in stores beginning November 6, 2012 for only $59.99, the Mass Effect Trilogy is the perfect holiday gift for longtime fans or friends who have yet to experience Commander Shepard’s epic journey to save the galaxy.

Coinciding with the launch of Mass Effect Trilogy, BioWare will kick off the first annual “N7 Day,” a worldwide celebration of the Mass Effect franchise on November 7, 2012. Stay tuned tohttp://MassEffect.com for updates and announcements for a variety of in-game, online and live events which fans can congregate and fly their N7 colors.

The Mass Effect trilogy follows the rise of Commander Shepard from Alliance Marine to becoming the galaxy’s most elite soldier – the only soldier who can lead an all-out galactic war against an ancient alien race known as the Reapers. Heart-pounding action meets gripping interactive storytelling as players decide how their unique story unfolds over all three games. With a team of loyal soldiers at their side, each player decides how they will save the galaxy, from the weapons and abilities they utilize to the relationships they forge or break.

The Mass Effect Trilogy will be available on the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system and PC on November 6, and will be available at a later date for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. Mass Effect, the game which started it all, will be available on PlayStation 3 for the first time through the Mass Effect Trilogy and digitally as a standalone title via the PlayStation Network. It must be trilogy announcement day because following up on EA’s Mass Effect Trilogy announcement just a few moments ago comes Ubisoft’s reveal of the Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy.

Unlike Mass Effect Trilogy, Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy is coming only to the PS3, with Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, along with the DLC, on a single Blu-ray Disc for $39.99.

Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy is scheduled for a November 13th release.

Read on for the announcement.

The charismatic Ezio Auditore de Firenze makes one final return to give gamers an opportunity to revisit the classic Assassin’s Creed trilogy. Launching exclusively for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system on November 13, 2012, for $39.99, the Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy features Assassin’s Creed II with downloadable content, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, all on one Blu-ray disc.

The Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy gives gamers an opportunity to venture into the life of Ezio Auditore de Firenze – an Assassin driven by vengeance. Spanning three different periods of his life, the Assassin’s Creed Ezio Trilogy will see Ezio rise from an apprentice Assassin to building a brotherhood that will aide his war against the Templars and finally his journey to reveal the truth of the Assassin order. The multiplayer experiences for both Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be included in this bundle.

The newest entry in the series, Assassin’s Creed III, will launch on October 30. Gamers who pick up Assassin’s Creed III on the PlayStation 3 will receive four exclusive single player missions.

Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratonhnhaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Gamers become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date.

The only way I'd buy this is if I can get one with femshep on the cover...
wonderwomanhero 26th-Sep-2012 11:29 pm (UTC)
Not this time.
powerbottom 26th-Sep-2012 11:25 pm (UTC)
So kinda OT from this but did anyone else play GW2 and get bored with it?

I got to level 80 pretty quickly and pretty much got through everything really quick and now I have nothing to do so I have nothing to play.
powerbottom 26th-Sep-2012 11:25 pm (UTC)
It's an awesome game though, don't get me wrong. There just wasn't enough stuff to keep me interested.
sleepdirty 26th-Sep-2012 11:26 pm (UTC)
I just try to pretend that Mass Effect 3 didn't happen.... That said if these have all the DLC bundled as well then I'll get it.
smileyjoe222 26th-Sep-2012 11:31 pm (UTC)
I thought they did a decent job fixing the ending.
myrasis 26th-Sep-2012 11:35 pm (UTC)
it didn't fix anything imo, just elaborated on what was already there. and in synthesis' case, made it even creepier. i wasn't expecting them to actually fix anything, bioware had to stick with their ~creative vision~ and all that.
natalscar 27th-Sep-2012 12:50 am (UTC)
I agree. I get so sick of those people who say those who didn't like Mass Effect 3 are entitled. I gues I am--I feel entitled to a series ending that follows canon, doesn't use a Deus Ex Machina and fill giant plot holes by revising some of it's previous story mechanics. I'll give DA3 a chance but no preorder.
wonderwomanhero 26th-Sep-2012 11:30 pm (UTC)

YES! YES! YES! I've only played the Dragon Age series, staying away from this franchise because of stuff like this lol. FINALLY. Jennifer Hale and aliens and sex and lgbt and Shohreh Aghdashloo and Freddie Prinze Jr and all my feels...
browniecakemix 26th-Sep-2012 11:44 pm (UTC)

-googles-

omg they voiced WHO?!?

anyway ignore the ME3 haters, they're just bitter BioWare cared more about doing the story justice than about servicing entitled fans tbh

chikntetrazzini 26th-Sep-2012 11:37 pm (UTC)
I haven't played ME3 yet, but everyone says the ending sucks so...I dunno. Maybe I'll just skip it. Ready for DA3 tho.
wonderwomanhero 26th-Sep-2012 11:38 pm (UTC)
Another DA fan?!

ilu. The games are so much fun aren't they?
myrasis 26th-Sep-2012 11:40 pm (UTC)
it only completely falls to shit in the last 10-15 min, you can just stop the game once you make the charge for the beam and make up your own ending :v
littlehayzay 26th-Sep-2012 11:42 pm (UTC)
lol ikr

i have like 9 playthroughs saved right before that b/c i can't bring myself to finish them
smileyjoe222 26th-Sep-2012 11:41 pm (UTC)
Have they released anything on DA3? I neeeeed it.
browniecakemix 26th-Sep-2012 11:44 pm (UTC)

brownxeyedxdork 26th-Sep-2012 11:47 pm (UTC)
Mmm I have my issues with the ending, but I think the game is worth playing at least once.
mammary_glands 27th-Sep-2012 12:49 am (UTC)
ME3 is beautiful and fun and it's worth playing for the Tuchunka mission alone. The ending isn't gr8 but you should still play. The deeper meaning in the ending and the conspiracy theories surrounding it almost make it awesome.
molkat 27th-Sep-2012 02:15 am (UTC)
It's a mix.

I thought the gameplay was fantastic. The AI is a lot smarter and better at flanking. The plot (aside from the begging the rest of the galaxy to care about Earth when they have their own shit to care about) was solid, especially the interaction with your team mates. Just the opening sequence on Earth, fabulous. Overall I had fun playing it.

The downside the ending blows. Also to get access to certain endings you either have to play multi player or do some boring repetitive game on your phone to increase your galactic readiness high enough.
aboxofscraps 27th-Sep-2012 01:49 pm (UTC)
Most of the game is good. The Tuchanka mission is some really amazing storytelling. The ending really ruins it but, eh, fanfic is there for a reason. I think my disappointment with the ending made me sit back and spend too much time analyzing and nitpicking everything else but I had a lot of fun in my first playthrough.
weber_dubois22 26th-Sep-2012 11:38 pm (UTC)
Wait, does this mean I get to play ME1 on the PS3 if I buy this box set? Please tell me this is true, because if not:

wonderwomanhero 26th-Sep-2012 11:38 pm (UTC)
yup
weber_dubois22 27th-Sep-2012 12:00 am (UTC)

I may just forsake everything else for Christmas or my Birthday just to play it and a bundled Assassin's Creed :D.
devochkazhenya 26th-Sep-2012 11:39 pm (UTC)
I really want to play Assassin's Creed
wonderwomanhero 26th-Sep-2012 11:44 pm (UTC)
DO IT YOU GET TO SEE me THE BORGIAS IN ASSASSIN'S CREED: BROTHERHOOD.
devochkazhenya 26th-Sep-2012 11:45 pm (UTC)
HOL UP. YOU'RE IN ASSASSIN'S CREED?!
vela 26th-Sep-2012 11:40 pm (UTC)
Not sure if I'm willing to buy this. The packaging looks nice but I already spent so much money for the Collector's Edition versions of all three games >.>
leperheart 26th-Sep-2012 11:45 pm (UTC)
Hopefully my mShep will be able to knock space boots with Kaiden in the first one now, too.
brownxeyedxdork 26th-Sep-2012 11:46 pm (UTC)
NEGL the packaging for the Mass Effect series looks nice.
heulog 26th-Sep-2012 11:47 pm (UTC)

I'm apathetic about the ME3 ending (I'm more of a Bethesda person anyway), but I just happen to love this macro.
babblinjoe 27th-Sep-2012 04:42 am (UTC)
