Hart of Dixie Goes for Gold With Olympic Gymnast McKayla Maroney



McKayla Maroney is vaulting herself into the wonderful world of acting.

On the heels of her Olympic teammate Gabby Douglas booking a cameo on The Vampire Diaries, the gold medal-winning gymnast has landed a guest spot in Hart of Dixie‘s upcoming Season 2, TVLine has learned.

Maroney will drop by the CW charmer as Tonya, a high schooler who comes to the defense of Zoe’s not-so-popular pal Rose (portrayed by the similarly named McKaley Miller).

Maroney also joins fellow London Gamer Ryan Lochte on The CW this fall, where the swimming stud will appear as himself in an episode of 90210.

Hart of Dixie‘s sophomore run begins Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 8/7c.

The Rodionenkos (the couple in charge of Lake Krugloye where Team Russia trains) fired Alexander Alexandrov, the head coach, because they're claiming a bunch of coaches have come forward saying it isn't fair that he also doubles as Aliya Mustafina's personal coach because then he can't give enough attention to the other girls. Valentina Rodionenko has been talking shit about Aliya and they're saying that a lot of the girls (i.e. Anastasia Grishina) didn't do as well as expected because Alexandrov didn't coach them well enough. Ksenia Afanasyeva and Viktoria Komova have posted some vaguely rude things on their VKs implying that they agree with the Rodionenkos' decision as well. Basically, it's Russia vs. Alexandrov/Aliya. Alexandrov's contract with Aliya ends in December, so it's unclear whether or not he will keep working with her after that. :(

Kate went over to congratulate the USA team in person during the individual events, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was done on purpose.

the photos were taken like less than 5 seconds apart but i spliced them together (kate and will were at the paralympic opening ceremonies making that face)

Ugh, I know right? It's so rare that women get something in the code before men do and there's already a man training it for worlds next year so the pressure's on. The good thing is that she may have trained a Yurchenko double back so that's always in there as a back up if she wants a legacy. Her not having a vault named after her would be such a disappointment.
