Russell Tovey and Sinead Keenan want a 'Being Human' spinoff for George and Nina

Russell Tovey has publicly called for a Being Human spinoff featuring his character George and Nina (Sinead Keenan).

The actor made the suggestion for a show following the deceased werewolf couple in a message to the official BBC Three Twitter account.

"Just putting it out there... How about a #george and #Nina #beinghuman spin off special? @bbcthree," he wrote.

In response, BBC Three said: "@russelltovey OMG. That would be AMAZING!!!! I like your thinking! #BeingHuman @bbcbeinghuman...@russelltovey."

After fans voiced their support for the project, they added: "Ooh you've opened a can of worms now!"

Tovey's character was killed in the opening episode of Being Human's fourth series earlier this year, while Nina perished in an off-screen vampire attack between series three and four.

The fifth series of Being Human - announced in March - will feature new ghost Alex (Kate Bracken) alongside vampire Hal (Damien Molony) and werewolf Tom (Michael Socha). It is set to air in 2013.

...Then why did they leave the show?

I'm kind of torn on this because they all left the show,
Lenora Crichlow stays and ends up getting written off since Toby Whithouse felt Annie's story was "done,"
now these two want a spin-off? /bitter Annie/Lenora fan

rosie_marie 21st-Sep-2012 03:59 pm (UTC)
It's up on Netflix instant if you have it
jasonbeast 21st-Sep-2012 07:33 pm (UTC)
It's a lot better imho, and you may recognize the plots of a few early episodes. Feels a lot more down-to-earth and natural where the US version feels a lot more polished.

I started in on three and just stopped while I was ahead.

I enjoyed series four until the final two or three episodes then major side eye started happening. I'll continue to watch for Hal and Tom, but damn if my enthusiasm for this show hasn't waned in the months since the finale aired. :/

jeterluva 21st-Sep-2012 08:53 pm (UTC)
I didn't finish season 4, but season 3 was still pretty good. But I didn't know how it was going to end. It still made good TV IMO.
_cheshire 21st-Sep-2012 03:23 pm (UTC)
so I never saw series 3 because Aidan left and I am shallow as hale, so what happened to them?
fiercenessness 21st-Sep-2012 03:25 pm (UTC)
Nina died before season 4 and George died in the first episode.
honeebs 21st-Sep-2012 06:16 pm (UTC)
And that's when I stopped watching, I tried but I was over it.
silentxstrom 21st-Sep-2012 03:24 pm (UTC)
the show sucks w/o the original cast from the first series. and george and nina died so what's the point of a spin-off.
bellwetherr 21st-Sep-2012 03:45 pm (UTC)
it's a ~supernatural show though. werewolf ghosts.
_cheshire 21st-Sep-2012 03:24 pm (UTC)
and Annie left too? uuuugh now I miss how perfect series 1 was
qween_tartii 21st-Sep-2012 03:28 pm (UTC)
season 1 was flawfree, George and Mitchell were my everything

shangri__la 21st-Sep-2012 03:29 pm (UTC)
Annie went through her door to George, Mitchell, and Nina (although we didn't see them).

su20 21st-Sep-2012 03:29 pm (UTC)
I didn't watch the last series? is it worth watching? And they've written off Annie...argh shame
meredydd 21st-Sep-2012 03:30 pm (UTC)
I like Hal and the other werewolf but the ghost they came up with really irritates me in that manic pixie dreamgirl way on the latest season.
adrock 21st-Sep-2012 04:33 pm (UTC)
yes
hera_bearrra 21st-Sep-2012 05:21 pm (UTC)
Yes. It was awesome. And I liked the new ghost.
dirtyxboots 22nd-Sep-2012 06:15 pm (UTC)
I had doubts about it but it was actually surprising good. I preferred it to the angst of s3
fiercenessness 21st-Sep-2012 03:30 pm (UTC)
I do love the first 3, but I like how they got a new cast and I'm looking forward to the new season.
meredydd 21st-Sep-2012 03:30 pm (UTC)
I thought the actors were kind of forced but not really off the show because they disliked their storylines?
shangri__la 21st-Sep-2012 03:32 pm (UTC)
If I recall correctly, Russell Tovey said it didn't feel right without Aidan Turner, Sinead Keenan just declined to return, and Lenora came back. And according to the finale video, Toby Whithouse decided Annie's story was done and Lenora understood, and they wrote her out.
meredydd 21st-Sep-2012 03:39 pm (UTC)
Ah, okay, that makes sense.
shangri__la 21st-Sep-2012 03:31 pm (UTC)
I apologize if I spoiled anyone, I thought it was safe since it's been months since the finale aired. I've put the "spoilery" stuff behind a spoiler cut just in case.
wicky_wicky 21st-Sep-2012 03:33 pm (UTC)
i just watched this show! well, actually i stopped watching after season 3? when youknowwhodied cos i was basically watching for his sexiness :X

therearewords 21st-Sep-2012 03:33 pm (UTC)
I'm still surprised about how much I liked the last season, to be honest. And no to a spin off.
