Team GB's gold medal-winning boxer Luke Campbell has been signed by top modelling agency Select Model Management.
The 24-year-old boxer, who won gold in the bantamweight division at the Games, caught the eye of Select's team after he appeared in the June issue of Vogue .
"We spotted Luke in British Vogue after Peter Lindbergh shot him and felt he had a great look so we contacted him - it was prior to recognising that he was a professional boxer. The combination of his strong, genuine character and great look has appealed to the fashion world," Dounia Benjelloul of Select told us. "The fact the boy then went and won a gold medal for the country is an added bonus and couldn't have happen to a lovelier person!"
Although Campbell has not yet been approached by any brands, he has told Vogue.co.uk that he would be keen if the opportunity to star in a campaign arose. He is also reportedly set to work with world-famous photographer Bruce Weber.
"I was really pleased with the pictures and I got a very prominent showing in the magazine, so I guess Peter and Vogue were also happy with them," Campbell told the site. "I got some really great feedback and was approached by Select. I've done a few more shoots, so it may have opened up another career avenue for me."
If Luke does secure a campaign he'll be following in the footsteps of fellow 2012 medallists Jessica Ennis, Victoria Pendleton, Louis Smith and Iain Percy who have all appeared in adverts for fashion or beauty brands.
