Emma Watson & Steven Chbosky Talk 'Perks'

"Feeling the heat."

Call her a pressure-cooker, because that's how Emma Watson describes the temperature stepping into the shoes of another widely celebrated character who originated on the page.

Only a year removed from the decade-long journey that was her embodiment of Hermione in the "Harry Potter" series, Watson's first major role out of Hogwarts is Sam, the magnetic, free-spirited object of the angst-filled Charlie's affections in the film adaptation of Steven Chbosky's coming-of-age favorite "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."

"I was like, 'Why am I doing this to myself again?,'" Watson laughs about the burden that comes with playing a beloved book creation. It helped that Watson's friends at Brown University egged her on, as she explains in the exclusive video interview above.

Not that author-turned-director Chbosky had ridiculously high expectations: "Sam is my hope for every young girl in the world. Doesn’t matter where you come from, doesn’t matter what you go through, you can turn anything into a beautiful life. You can turn any past into a great love. And be free." Okay, scratch that.

So, "Potter," "Perks" … what's the next book for Watson to conquer? Chbosky suggests The Bible.

"I would play Noah's daughter," Watson jokes.

Hey, we could see it.

What's even grosser is it was the author who said it, not Emma.

I loved the book when I read it a few years ago. I tried re-reading it was just "meh" now... I'll watch the movie though.

We're they joking or did they not realize she really is in a movie playing Noah's daughter?
