The 20 Hottest Celebrity Republicans

20. Shannen Doherty

Of being a Republican in Hollywood, Shannen says, "I realize that the majority of people in the entertainment business happen to be Democrats. I have no problem with that. And they should have no problem with the fact that I'm a Republican." Maybe she'll throw Gov. Romney a fundraiser at The Peach Pit.

19. Angie Harmon

Angie Harmon has been one of Hollywood's most vocal Republicans over the years. In 2009, Harmon gave a telling interview in which she defended Bristol Palin, said she disagreed with President Obama on, well, everything, and added, "One of the greatest things about the Republican Party is the understanding, we don't point fingers and we have class."

18. Heidi Montag

In the history of humanity, there may be no question that's been asked less than, "Who is Heidi Montag voting for?" However, this former MTV reality star and Playboy cover girl was vocal in her support of Sen. John McCain in 2008.

17. LeAnn Rimes

Adorable country singing sensation LeAnne Rimes is another proud Republican. She's performed at several Republican fundraisers in the south throughout the last decade. A country musician who's a Republican? Get out of town!

16. Kellie Pickler

Kellie Pickler, the bubbly country music singer and former American Idol contestant, was a big advocate of the Sen. McCain/Gov. Palin ticket in 2008.

15. Kathy Ireland

Ex-supermodel Kathy Ireland, who's appeared in 13 consecutive Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues in the '80s and '90s, is a staunch Republican. After her modeling career came to an end, Ireland became a pro-life advocate. She's actually on record as saying Congress should eliminate federal funding of Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider.

14. Gail O'Grady

Gail O'Grady, the gorgeous former star of NYPD Blue and American Dreams, was very vocal about her support of the Sen. McCain/Gov. Palin ticket in 2008.

13. Elisabeth Hasselbeck

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the adorable co-host of ABC's daily gabfest The View, has never been one to hide her political beliefs. In 2008, Hasselbeck appeared at Republican rallies in Florida, introducing vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin.

12. Heather Locklear

The timelessly sexy Heather Locklear has been known as a Republican for years, although she's notoriously tight-lipped on the subject when asked about it in the press.

11. Laura Prepon

Lauren Prepon, the underratedly hot star of Fox's oft-syndicated That 70's Show, was a big time President George Bush advocate through all eight trying years of his presidency.

10. Sarah Michelle Gellar :(

Though she's never spoken about it to the press, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Buffy The Vampire Slayer herself, is a registered Republican in the state of California.

9. Britney Spears

Though some of her past actions may lead you to assume that Britney Spears is anything but conservative, the controversial pop star is actually a registered Republican.

8. Hilary Duff

Stunningly charming pop star turned actress, Hilary Duff, is a registered Republican in her home state of Texas.

7. Jenna Jameson

You'd think that all porn stars are liberals, right? Wrong. Jenna Jameson, perhaps the most recognizable adult film star on the planet, is a Republican. While her's may be the least helpful endorsement in the history of endorsements, this skin flick vixen recently voiced her support of Gov. Mitt Romney, saying, "When you're rich, you want a Republican in office."

6. Lacey Chabert

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Chabert, who's kept a low profile since starring as the adorably airheaded Gretchen Weiners in Mean Girls, donated to the Sen. McCain campaign in 2008.

5. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift started out as a country singer, but quickly transitioned into a full-fledged pop sensation. However, when it comes to her political ideologies, Taylor's sticking to her Southern roots. This blonde-haired beauty is a conservative Republican. (Maybe she switched now she's a Kennedy?)

4. Leeann Tweeden

The curvy Leeann Tweeden, who's appeared in the pages of Playboy and hosted NBC's Poker After Dark, is yet another gorgeous registered Republican.

3. Carrie Underwood

Though she's been quoted as saying she "loses all respect for a celebrity when they publicly back a candidate," one can assume that American Idol winner Carrie Underwood won't be voting President Obama come November. This Texas beauty is a registered Republican.

2. Jessica Simpson

Texas girl Jessica Simpson, the quintessential Southern belle, is a Republican. Though she infamously turned down an invite from President Bush to attend a 2006 GOP fundraiser, her father/manager's been quoted as saying, "Jessica's a huge fan of him and of his family. Jessica loves the heck out of him." Yeehaw!

1. Rachel Hunter

The New Zealand-born supermodel, who's appeared in numerous Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues, is a registered Republican in California.

ngl, I think the only one people didn't hate already was sarah michelle gellar but now she might as well drive a wooden stake into her cooch, as republican's are trying to kill it already
jainypoo 20th-Sep-2012 07:33 pm (UTC)
I was most disappointed to see her on here.
simplychristina 20th-Sep-2012 07:41 pm (UTC)
Considering she's currently pregnant, republicans would disown her if she did that. lol
winegums 20th-Sep-2012 07:41 pm (UTC)
tbf 'registered Republican' ≠ 'automatic vote for Republican president', wasn't the dude who gave Obama a bear hug last week and said he'd vote for him also a registered Republican?

/not American
winninglondon 20th-Sep-2012 07:57 pm (UTC)
She voted for Obama last election
fauxkaren 20th-Sep-2012 08:01 pm (UTC)
lol. Registered Republican doesn't mean shit, tbh.

I am registered Republican, but I always have voted Democrat. (LMAO. I WAS 18. REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES ARE CLOSED PRIMARIES AND I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO VOTE IN THEM. IDK IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME.)

Nah, never cared enough about any of these people to hate them now
trendreject 20th-Sep-2012 08:07 pm (UTC)
Since several of those listed (Hilary, Carrie, etc.) have made statements in support of the LGBT community I doubt they are total right wing nuts. They are probably moderates.
melissa_ivory 20th-Sep-2012 09:03 pm (UTC)
Personally, I cannot hate them all until there is proof they will vote or voted for Romney. Just because you're registered in one party doesn't mean you'll automatically vote it every election, whatever election.
stellar_kar 21st-Sep-2012 04:05 am (UTC)

None of them. Anyone who supports a party that delights in taking away rights from women, gays and POCs is not hot.

True to some degree. My Auntie is a hard core tea party supporter but she's incredibly active in the LGBT community. She's pro-life and agrees with Mittens recent 47% comments.

Yet when it comes to Gay issues/marriage and racism she's completely behind them and gives money to organizations such as Callen Lorde, The Center and other Gay groups.

I'm still confused on how/why she thinks the way she does.
melissa_ivory 20th-Sep-2012 09:09 pm (UTC)
There is a difference to supporting a party and being registered for a party. This article says many of these have yet to support Romney publicly, the only ones being Jenna Jameson, mentioned here, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, not mentioned here.

Until you have proof the others agree with Romney and the current stance of the Party, there is no logic to disliking them for being registered Republicans.
tlcspice 20th-Sep-2012 07:21 pm (UTC)

one where she said she was still "dressing for a recession" when Pres Obama was elected. 'Cause you know, he caused it.

Lol good one.

it's opposite day, apparently
zeldafitzgerald 20th-Sep-2012 07:28 pm (UTC)
She's said some really stupid things that make me rme:

"Here's my problem with this, I'm just going to come out and say it. If I have anything to say against Obama it's not because I'm a racist, it's because I don't like what he's doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you're called a racist.:
melissa_ivory 20th-Sep-2012 09:10 pm (UTC)
Said in 2008. Someone should ask her if she still feels the same before condemning her for this comment alone. Not that I agree, but I also understand context, and in 2008, the Republican Party was vastly different from what it is now.
jinxeh13 20th-Sep-2012 09:17 pm (UTC)
Lol, she sounds like my brother. He actually complained on Facebook not too long ago, "I think it's cute how you can't dare say something about liberals, but they can trash us all they want."

Oh, okay. I'll remember that next time one of my conservative relatives is going on about that "terrorist, Muslim, unpatriotic" president we have.

LOL at half of these being country singers. Expected.

Sad to see SMG on that list, though. I thought more of her than that.

apparently 'registered Republican' doesn't automatically mean voting for the GOP Presidential candidate, I found that out just last week (that pizza place owner who went all fanboy and bear-hugged Pres Obama is a registered Republican, lol)
bellwetherr 20th-Sep-2012 08:36 pm (UTC)
considering SMG has never once talked about it and lbr, all hollywood republicans love to talk about their special snowflake status, i just don't believe it. she may be registered but that doesn't mean anything.
bob80 20th-Sep-2012 11:39 pm (UTC)
Well Carrie Underwood supports gay rights and Leanne Rimes was married to a gay man, so they get a pass from me LOL. But I honestly don't think they are hardcore Republicans.
leperheart 20th-Sep-2012 07:20 pm (UTC)
buffy the woman's right to choose slayer
loganx2 20th-Sep-2012 07:20 pm (UTC)
I dont think that's Gail O'grady unless it's a very very old and very airbrushed photo of her.
loganx2 20th-Sep-2012 07:21 pm (UTC)
would you really start hating a celeb if you found out they were republicans?
mynamehere07 20th-Sep-2012 07:40 pm (UTC)
It depends. Some like Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who takes every opportunity to screech and scream rhetoric, then yes. But someone like SMG who keeps her political views out of interviews and out of her work, I side eye a little, but don't hate.
banabee 20th-Sep-2012 08:22 pm (UTC)
no, but it does make me judge them a bit
bellwetherr 20th-Sep-2012 08:37 pm (UTC)
i would definitely start judging their moral character.
melissa_ivory 20th-Sep-2012 09:15 pm (UTC)
No. Registered status is meaningless. It is what they say publicly and vote in the end that matters, and as voting is a private thing, you can only go on their public statements, if they make any. Otherwise, politics and celebrities are separate of one another.
expromqueen 21st-Sep-2012 01:25 am (UTC)
i probably wouldn't "hate" them for that reason alone...but i would always keep it in the back of my mind when i read about them, and i'm sure over time it would cause me to dislike them
fineapplewine 20th-Sep-2012 07:22 pm (UTC)
No lie, I have no idea who the hell she is. I google imaged and that came up. I'll change it lol.
xtinkerbellax 20th-Sep-2012 07:24 pm (UTC)
lol I thought the same thing, but the picture doesn't look like it was taken 20 years ago and she looks a lot older than that currently.
robertsbox_xo 20th-Sep-2012 07:26 pm (UTC)
i thought it was amber heard lol
tlcspice 20th-Sep-2012 07:20 pm (UTC)
I'm pretty sure Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood aren't Republicans. Britney is also seemingly an Obama supporter.
give_mespace 20th-Sep-2012 07:37 pm (UTC)
i remember carrie getting shit from fans for saying that she supports gay marriage. however, you never know with people. a lot of young republicans are pro gay marriage but vote with their pockets. also taylor swift isn't from the south so i don't know why they're assuming she's a republican. she probably hasn't even voted yet.
goldenlockets 21st-Sep-2012 03:44 am (UTC)
yeah idg how they think she is from the south? she was raised in pennsylvania. she didn't even grow up in the pennsyl-tucky part of the state!!!
lumosofmylife 20th-Sep-2012 07:40 pm (UTC)
I think Britney just supports whoever is the current president.
ava_adore0 20th-Sep-2012 07:40 pm (UTC)
I don't think Taylor is either. This list doesn't even provide evidence that she is, just says she's a southern country star so she's a republican. During 2008 she declined to talk about her political beliefs as to not alienate any fans, but she heavily implied she supported Obama (in the same interview she said Ellen Degeneres would be her dream Vice President so that seems to line up).
winegums 20th-Sep-2012 07:45 pm (UTC)
yeah, I'm no Swift fan but slapping the Republican label on her just bc she's southern and does country music is stupid.
hazel_belle 20th-Sep-2012 07:53 pm (UTC)
They might have registered as Republicans but that doesn't mean they will ALWAYS vote Republican.
My parents are registered republicans but they voted for Obama in the last election, and last time I checked, they are probably voting for him again.
winninglondon 20th-Sep-2012 08:01 pm (UTC)
Britney doesn't vote
xcollsangelx 20th-Sep-2012 07:21 pm (UTC)
LOL Taylor Swift better change her political opinions if she wants to be the next Jackie O.

tlcspice 20th-Sep-2012 07:23 pm (UTC)
There is no evidence to support that Taylor is a "conservative Republican". I have no idea where they got that idea from. I'm pretty Taylor was pro-Obama and was very happy when he won (Ellen interview she said this).
kapuki234 20th-Sep-2012 07:23 pm (UTC)
article says she's a registered republican doe
mydogfred 20th-Sep-2012 07:48 pm (UTC)
yeah idk if it's just my thinking but i always associated her song "Change" with Obama's 2008 campaign lol
winninglondon 20th-Sep-2012 08:03 pm (UTC)
They're basing it off her being a country singer and Southern when she's really from PA and has always supported Obama. This article tried it
intangibleamor 20th-Sep-2012 07:21 pm (UTC)
Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrlllllll.... how???? WHY???? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?????

the shock and horror of it all
zeldafitzgerald 20th-Sep-2012 07:22 pm (UTC)
That cannot be Gail O'Grady.

I feel guilty liking Rizzoli and Isles because of Angie Harmon's politics but it's one of the very few shows on TV that's focal relationship is a female friendship.
callingstars 20th-Sep-2012 07:22 pm (UTC)
i'm pretty sure it's amber heard.

Taylor's sticking to her Southern roots.

bitch isn't even from the south.
tlcspice 20th-Sep-2012 07:24 pm (UTC)
Right? I'm pretty sure she isn't conservative either.
xtinkerbellax 20th-Sep-2012 07:26 pm (UTC)
Isn't she from PA?
tlcspice 20th-Sep-2012 07:29 pm (UTC)
Yes, she grew up in Reading, but lived in Nashville as a teen (and still does)
rpsuc 20th-Sep-2012 07:50 pm (UTC)
She's from like 40 minutes outside of Philly...she used to do the national anthem for Philly sports teams
saltonmycuts 20th-Sep-2012 08:36 pm (UTC)
mte.
bob80 20th-Sep-2012 11:42 pm (UTC)
Being in the South doesn't = all democrats either. That's not southern roots. I live in Kentucky and registered democrats outnumber registered republicans by nearly 1/3. We've got a democrat governor and the house of rep is dems. Hell the states second biggest city, Lexington, has an openly gay mayor. Ugh. I hate that southern = republican. This article be cray cray, plus yeah, she's not southern.

I feel your pain.
melissa_ivory 20th-Sep-2012 09:40 pm (UTC)
Because she might have agreed with the values the Republican Party used to uphold, which it has thrown out the window and set fire to now. Things have changed, and her opinions probably have as well.

You can change your views and opinions, but not your voter registry party.
sweet_honesty 20th-Sep-2012 07:22 pm (UTC)
Yeah, homophobia, classism, sexism, and racism is so sexy.
melissa_ivory 20th-Sep-2012 09:38 pm (UTC)
Registered status isn't always indicative of how they will vote in this upcoming election. The Republican Party is vastly different from the last Presidential election, and even those who supported McCain may feel differently about Romney now.
tangerinefriday 21st-Sep-2012 12:22 am (UTC)
This sentiment is the only thing I liked about Aaron Sorkin's Newsroom.
