But just because he has become a household name in America, don't expect Psy to change any of the lyrics to cater to his new fanbase. After all, he told MTV News, the Korean version is what everyone fell in love with.
To date, the song has garnered more than 212 million views on YouTube. "The thing is, already like 160 something million people saw the video all over the world, so in that way if I change it now and then like 160 people getting confused," Psy said. "So for this song I think verbal is not that important, nonverbal, I think just the dance moves and how it sounds and how it looks I think that was the point of the story."
So I don't know much about PSY but I actually really his voice in the singing bits of this, I know he's primarily a rapper, but does he have other songs where he sings some of the parts?
i love how this song blew up without him even meaning it to, the big 3 companies must be pressed as fuck that they actually tried to put in an effort and they flopped lol
the label he's signed with in korea has some pretty popular bands (bigbang and 2ne1 especially), who are pretty up there in terms of popularity and once a year, the entire label has a major concert with all of their label-mates. basically, people who go to those concerts (i think its called YG-Family Concert) usually walk away saying PSY is the best performer by FAR. like they were all mesmerized
He's an outstanding live performer. I've seen him twice at the YG Family concert and he out-performs everyone on stage. He's got incredible energy and stage presence.
(sorry for the OT but is anyone else's tumblr dash completely fucked up?)
