Frank Nominated for "Best New Act" at Q Music Awards
Fresh off of 3 VMA nominations Frank Ocean has been nominated for “Best New Act” in the Q Music Awards. 

The annual UK awards held by Q Magazine is one of the the UK’s biggest and best publicised music awards. This year’s Q Awards, which take place on Monday, October 22 in London sees Frank Ocean nominated for Best New Act along side Django Django, Alt J, Lianne La Havas and Alabama Shakes.

Well most people are there for his album, not his live performances. I'd give that a try b/c it's rather easy to separate the two.

my bf and I watched SNL and I was excited to hear Frank because I never have before and ontd loves his album. we did not care for him at all lol. maybe he sounds different on his album? good voice, just not my style of music I guess.

I think TBY translated really well live, however, I don't think the same for Pyramids. You should check out his studio stuff and see if you like any of it.

You should def check out his album. I didn't know anything about him other than ONTD loving him and I found his performances a little boring too but I DLed his album that night and have been listening to it nonstop since then.

The second song he did sounds a million times better on record....there's too much sonically going on with that one to communicate it live imo

His best stuff is Prince-esque soul which is the bulk of his album, neither of which the songs he performed are.
