Owen was preparing himself for Saturday's first outing for his new club against Premier League champions Manchester City when, on Friday night, he spotted the man loitering outside his house on his personal security cameras.
But rather than panic, the former England striker did not sound at all concerned by the incident and instead found the whole situation amusing.

The police car arrives and parks behind the burglar's van
The 32-year-old tweeted ‘great TV tonight’ before relaying updates and pictures to his followers of the man's increasingly obvious efforts to get in - little realising he was doing so in full gaze of Owen and the cameras.
'Been watching some fella on my cameras for an hour weighing up what to nick,’ tweeted Owen.
‘Police came round while he hid in my woods - they then went and 5 minutes later he runs back to his van and hides in the boot!'

The police apprehend the burglar
Watched it all laughing my head off as the police returned to drag him out.’
Owen, who shares the mansion in North Wales with his wife and four children, thanked the police for their quick response once the saga was at an end.
‘Big thanks to the police, top notch,’ he tweeted once the burglar had been caught.

Rooney is apparently really nice - my cousin works with his wifes brother/my uncles best friend is neighbours with her mother and father and have met him and they've said he's nice. a little hot-headed, though.
chelsea i don't like for john terry - he's a massive gobshite. i used to really like chelsea when josé was manager (fucking phwoar) and i'm a fan of lampard, but other than that they seem vile.
My other team that I support is Arsenal - tbh, i've never really heard of players getting into that much trouble with arsenal.
if you're thinking arsenal, the next game is tomorrow at 7:45 my time (england) or 23rd - and the liverpool v man-u match is also the 23rd.
:)
someone else said that about arsenal; that they dont really have any huge pr issues or instances hanging around over their head. plus, someone linked me to a gif of their captain holding a little kid's hand and asking him if he was ok and my heart legit melted. im pretty sure i said "AWWW!" outloud. //csb
oh god don't even get me started on that oswbun'feounbqwouhnrwon NOTHING WARMS MY HEART MORE THAN TO SEE PEOPLE REACT GOOD TO KIDS :33.
it's like nearly 3am here so i'm off to bed - but let me know how you get on!! :)
