I hate dogs, too. And it doesn't help that whenever I visit a friend who has a dog, said dog will jump all over me and then proceed to follow me around the house, licking me and just generally being an (untrained?) ass.

Definitely untrained. I really like dogs, and I know a lot of them because I dog sat a ton in high school, but I swear more than half the owners haven't trained theirs for crap. Most people don't take the time.

How old is his dog? Because if he's still young, he might be carrying him not because the dog is scared of the stairs but because puppies should not climb them as it can cause health problems.
