Cameron even said that it wasn't true 3D so much as it was 2.5D. There's only so much you can do for a film that wasn't filmed for 3D. As far as conversions go it wasn't bad at all though. It was more about the depth of field than things popping out at your face.
My sister got her period for the first time an hour or so before Titanic started the our cinema we were going to with my mother's friend. We ended up sitting down right after Jack draws Rose naked. My sister spent the rest of the movie weeping softly. It was such a hilariously traumatic night in retrospect. I still don't know how we even got in at what...almost an hour and a half after the movie started? lol
When my son was a toddler/preschooler, this was his FAVORITE MOVIE. Child wouldn't even sit through a 30 minute kids' show, but he could sit through 3 hours of Titanic.
Got to where I couldn't stand watching the movie.
We'd be shopping at Walmart or something, and he'd see a Titanic poster and be all, "Jack and Rose, Mommy! JACK AND ROSE!!"
Of course, I have to let all of his oh too cool high school friends know these little embarrassing tidbits. :D
